New Bus Service from Malaga Airport to Benalmádena

UPDATE: From the 1st May 2013 the airport bus route will be extended and will reach the Holiday World Hotel Complex. Timetables are still not available but we will put them up as soon as they are.
We’ve got some great news for all those of you who travel to Benalmádena regularly but don’t particularly like to fork out €27 (each way) for a taxi from the airport to your hotel of choice (hopefully Sunset Beach Club 
).
The local bus company (Avanza Portillo) has just started an all new service (nºM128) which will run daily between Benalmádena Costa and Malaga airport. If you’re staying at Sunset Beach Club, the bus stops right outside the hotel – well… almost – so it’s really handy and will allow you to save quite a bit of money.
The price per person – and journey – is just €3.55 and children under 4 years travel free of charge 
. The only disadvantage is that travel time isn’t quite as quick as in a taxi; this new bus service takes approximately 1 hour from Málaga airport to Sunset Beach Club. The bus stops off at most of the hotels between Benalmadena and MalagaAirport, including the ones in Torremolinos.

Departure from Benalmádena (please note the bus will depart from the Holiday World Hotel Complex so will arrive at the Sunset Beach Club stop approx. 10 minutes later)

The bus stop is just outside the Terminal 3 arrivals hall. Just look for the M128 bus which will bring you to Sunset Beach Club. Have a good trip and see you soon!
We will be arriving on 25 Jan 13 @13-25 at malaga airport, and are staying at the Sunset Beach club Benalmadena. Where do we get the public bus and the time of the bus to suit our landing time.

Glad to hear you’ll be coming to stay with us in January. To answer your questions, you’ll find the bus stop just outside the arrivals hall at Malaga airport, you need to take bus nº M128. If your flight arrives on time and your luggage comes out quickly you should be able to make the bus that leaves at 2:15 pm, if not you’ll have to wait until 4:15 pm.

We very much your appreciate your easy to follow instructions.we have stayed in the sunset beach club in november,so tha’ts why we are staying again,we found it the most pleasent and relaxing hotel.We were using taxie’s but now we know about the public buse’s it make’s it even better, thanks to you.

I would like to enquire as to the cost of the M128 bus from the airport to the sunset beach club for three children aged 8, 10 and 12. just wondering if they’re charged same as adult? Thanks.

Hi Tina,
As far as I know, the price is the same as for adults. It’s only children under 4 who can travel for free.

My wife and I will be arriving March 5, 2013, for 4 weeks. Glad to hear that there is a bus to get to the Sunset Club. It is a lot cheaper than the service offered by the tour operator – around $100.Cdn.

Yes Rick, the bus is great value for money… probably not as comfortable as the tour operator’s but you definitely get to save a lot of money
