Van Gogh Alive - MalagaMálaga Port will host ‘Van Gogh Alive’, the world’s most visited multimedia exhibition experience until the 9th June 2019. This is by no means a traditional museum visit… You’ll venture into a unique and exciting new world which will allow you to engage with the work of Van Gogh from a completely new perspective.

This experience comes to Málaga after breaking attendance records in 45 cities across 4 continents. After visiting Seville, Alicante and Madrid, it’s now Málaga’s turn to enjoy Van Gogh’s masterpieces from new angles and discover unique perspectives thanks to the state-of-the-art technology used to display his work on giant screens, walls, columns, ceilings and even the floor. Malaga’s New Pompidou Centre: A Journey Through the History of Contemporary Art 

New Pompidou Centre in MalagaIt’s official, Malaga is now the first city in the world (outside of France) to house a ‘Pop-up’ Pompidou art centre.

This new Contemporary art museum is located within the famous ‘Cube’ structure in Malaga’s Muelle Uno waterfront. Considering the number of visitors passing through its doors during the opening weekend – more than 6000 people – the museum’s success is practically guaranteed.

The new Pompidou Centre offers a unique itinerary which takes visitors on a voyage of discovery through art of the 20th and 21st century. Approximately 90 works of art, selected from the Pompidou Centre’s outstanding collection, line the walls and halls of ‘The Cube’. (more…)

Another Great Reason to Visit Mijas: The New Contemporary Art Centre

Contemporary Art Centre in MijasThe town of Mijas is probably one of the most popular tourist attractions on the Costa del Sol with thousands of weekly visitors. As from last Saturday, there’s another reason to add this charming town to your list of places to visit: The opening of the new Contemporary Art Centre (CACMijas: Centro de Arte Contemporáneo).

This new art gallery opened to the public with an impressive exhibition made up of 86 works from some of Spain’s greatest artists including, Picasso, Dalí and Miró. This wonderful collection actually goes by the name of “Picasso, amigos y contemporaneous” (Picasso, friends and contemporaries) and is made up of ceramics (43 pieces from Picasso himself and one of the most important collections in the world), lithographs and oil paintings.  (more…)
