Benalmadena to Launch Foreign Tourist Attention Centre to Help Victims of Crime

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+

Foreign Tourist Attention CentreAccording to the Spanish Secretary of State for Security, less than one out of every thousand tourists who visit Spain are victims of crime; a low figure which contributes to Spain’s popularity as a safe and popular holiday destination.

That being said, this low crime doesn’t console the unlucky few who do fall victim to petty thieves who take advantage of occasional lapses.

These unfortunate incidences usually mean having to go to the police and file a report,  phone banks to cancel credit cards and contact local consulates or embassies to report stolen passports. This could mean hours spent at the local police station without a qualified translator and valuable holiday time wasted.  Read More…

Starfish Benalmadena to Fuengirola Ferry

Trips from Benalmadena to Fuengirola included in the “Relax Tour” package

Benalmadena has always been known as a sun and sea destination, attracting visitors from all over Europe in the warmer high season months.

During the quieter winter period, demand and interest for the resort suffers an important drop. The winter months – although offering the warmest and sunniest weather in continental Europe – do not provide the ideal conditions for your typical beach holiday.

That being said, Benalmadena does provide fantastic activities and attractions for visitors looking to enjoy Spanish culture and explore the wonders of our beautiful coastline. The sun still shines and, whilst you may not be able to swim in the sea, day time temperatures in the 18ºC to 22ºC range make for enjoyable and relaxing breaks. Read More…

The fun begins a little earlier though, as the Three Wise Men delight crowds in the traditional parades which take place in all the major cities, towns and villages on the afternoon of the 5th January.

Families will be lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the gift-bearing Kings sitting comfortably in their spectacular carriages which slowly make their way through the carefully planned routes. Make sure you take a plastic bag to collect all the sweets which will be thrown in to the crowds from the carriages! Read More…

If you haven’t the faintest idea what we are talking about, be sure to read on as we explain where this bizarre tradition originated and what it actually entails.

Although many believe the tradition of eating the 12 lucky grapes at midnight on New Year’s Eve originated in 1909 due to a bumper crop of white grapes in the Almeria, Murcia and Alicante regions, it appears that this might not be entirely correct. Read More…
