Benalmadena Pueblo Hosts its Annual Arab Market

Arab Market in BenalmadenaStarting tomorrow, 29th September, and until Sunday the 2nd October, Benalmádena Pueblo (the old town) will host the 6th edition of its Arab Market (Zoco), event that serves as the perfect start to the town’s autumn and winter cultural programme. 

The Arab Market will take place in the following locations throughout the town: Plaza de las Tres Culturas, Plaza de España; in the Real and Santo Domingo de Guzmán streets and in the ‘Jardines del Muro’. Located on the promenade just a 10 minute walk from Sunset Beach Club, this Moorish-looking building isn’t really a castle. Although it looks like it was built centuries ago, nothing could be further from the truth. ‘Virgen del Carmen’ Celebrations this Weekend in Benalmadena

Virgen del Carmen en Benalmadena

Benalmadena is preparing itself for its annual celebrations in honour of the ‘Virgen del Carmen’. Also known as Stella Maris, she is the patron saint of fishermen (Please click on this link for more information on the Virgen del Carmen).

The Benalmadena town hall has prepared various events which will take place on Friday 15th July and Saturday 16th July (public holiday) including a wonderful procession through the streets of Benalmádena Costa in which the fishermen will carry their ‘Stella Maris’ to the Marina; here she’ll be lifted aboard a fishing boat and paraded along the Benalmadena coastline. If you’ve got some good binoculars, a great place to watch this is from the terrace in our Panorama Bar here at Sunset Beach Club  or from the promenade just in front of the hotel.  Continue Reading →

Every year, we here at Sunset Beach Club provide our unconditional support to this fantastic event which aims to raise awareness for the incredible work the Cudeca Foundation does for Cancer patients here on the Costa del Sol. Fiesta de la Bicicleta en Benalmadena Next Sunday the 24th April Benalmadena will host the 33rd edition of its popular ‘Fiesta de la Bicicleta’ or Bicycle Party, one of the city’s oldest and most emblematic events in its busy sports calendar.

It’s not a race. The whole event is designed to be a fun family day out, fitting in perfectly with Benalmadena’s image as an idyllic destination for tourism and sports.

At the event’s press conference the mayor of Benalmadena, Victor Navas, pointed out that he and his team have made a strong commitment to promoting the city as the perfect destination for sports and tourism.
