Benalmadena Pueblo Hosts its Annual Arab Market

Arab Market in BenalmadenaFrom Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th August, Benalmádena Pueblo (the old town) will host the 7th edition of its Arab Market (Zoco), an event that this year, returns to the town’s summer cultural programme. 

The Arab Market will take place in the following locations throughout the town: Plaza de las Tres Culturas, Plaza de España; in the Real and Santo Domingo de Guzmán streets and in the ‘Jardines del Muro’. ‘Virgen del Carmen’ Celebrations this Weekend in Benalmadena

Virgen del Carmen celebrations in BenalmadenaBenalmadena is preparing itself for its annual celebrations in honour of the ‘Virgen del Carmen’. Also known as Stella Maris, she is the patron saint of fishermen (Please click on this link for more information on the Virgen del Carmen).

The Benalmadena town hall has prepared various events which will take place on Saturday 15th July and Sunday 16th July,  including a wonderful procession through the streets of Benalmádena Costa in which the fishermen will carry their ‘Stella Maris’ to the Marina; here she’ll be lifted aboard a boat and paraded along the Benalmadena coastline (weather permitting). If you’ve got some good binoculars, a great place to watch this is from the terrace in our Panorama Bar here at Sunset Beach Club or from the promenade just in front of the hotel. Continue Reading →

Cudeca Walkathon 2017On Sunday 21st May 2017,  the promenade in front of Sunset Beach Club in Benalmádena will become the meeting point for another edition of the Cudeca Walkathon. 

Every year, we here at Sunset Beach Club provide our unconditional support to this fantastic event which aims to raise awareness for the incredible work the Cudeca Foundation does for Cancer patients here on the Costa del Sol. The funds raised during the Walkathon also allow for the continued palliative care the Cudeca hospice offers to more than 1300 cancer patients and their families totally free of charge.  Continue Reading →

Fiesta de la Bicicleta en Benalmadena Next Sunday the 23rd April, Benalmadena will host the 34th edition of its popular ‘Fiesta de la Bicicleta’ or Bicycle Party, one of the city’s oldest and most emblematic events in its busy sports calendar.

It’s not a race. The whole event is designed to be a fun family day out, fitting in perfectly with Benalmadena’s image as an idyllic destination for tourism and sports.

At the event’s press conference the mayor of Benalmadena, Victor Navas, pointed out that he and his team have made a strong commitment to promoting the city as the perfect destination for sports and tourism. There are even plans to create a cycle lane which will run from Torremolinos to Fuengirola along the old N-340 coast road; an amazing addition to Benalmadena’s tourist infrastructure which will help attract new visitors looking for a more active holiday mixed with the superb weather we enjoy in this wonderful part of Spain.
