Benalmadena is getting ready to host it’s popular ‘Feria del Marisco’ (Seafood Fair). This event usually takes place at the end of March but last year’s dodgy weather might have convinced the organisers to change the event to the end of April. From 29th April to the 2nd May, all visitors to the Marina will be able to sample some of the most delicious seafood at a bargain price!
Next Sunday the 24th April Benalmadena will host the 33rd edition of its popular ‘Fiesta de la Bicicleta’ or Bicycle Party, one of the city’s oldest and most emblematic events in its busy sports calendar.
It’s not a race. The whole event is designed to be a fun family day out, fitting in perfectly with Benalmadena’s image as an idyllic destination for tourism and sports.
At the event’s press conference the mayor of Benalmadena, Victor Navas, pointed out that he and his team have made a strong commitment to promoting the city as the perfect destination for sports and tourism. There are even plans to create a cycle lane which will run from Torremolinos to Fuengirola along the old N-340 coast road; an amazing addition to Benalmadena’s tourism infrastructure which will help attract new visitors looking for a more active holiday mixed with the superb weather we enjoy in this wonderful part of Spain.
From the 11th to 20th March, Benalmadena will host the 2nd edition of the Healthy Tapas Route to promote all the virtues of our famous Mediterranean Diet.
After the success of last year’s event, this unique tapas route is back promising visitors exquisite tapas based on the healthier Mediterranean Diet. Organised by the Association of Local Businesses, the Benalmadena Town Hall, the Healthy Lifestyle Habits Group and the Andalucian Health Service, the Healthy Tapas Route also forms part of Benalmadena’s ‘Healthy City’ programme.

The Arab Market will take place in the following locations throughout the town: Plaza de las Tres Culturas, Plaza de España; in the Real and Santo Domingo de Guzmán streets and in the ‘Jardines del Muro’. This highly regarded distinction has actually been visible on Benalmadena beaches since the summer; last weeks presentation just made the award official!
