The ‘Fiesta de la Bicicleta’ (Bicycle Party) in Benalmadena: A Fun Day Out For All the Family
Next Sunday the 14th of April, Benalmadena will host the 39th edition of its popular ‘Fiesta de la Bicicleta’ or Bicycle Party, one of the city’s oldest and most emblematic events in its busy sports calendar. This year the event returns stronger than ever with a fun-packed morning of cycling for all who choose to participate.
It’s not a race. The whole event is designed to be a fun family day out, fitting in perfectly with Benalmadena’s image as an idyllic destination for tourism and sports.
This unique tradition started almost 40 years ago to foment the use of bicycles as a healthy habit and an alternative form of transport. Many years later there’s still a lot of work to do in this aspect and the town hall remains committed to promoting the use of more eco-friendly and non-contaminating transport to help stop climate change.
