Mijas Hosts it´s First Luna Mora Festival: From 18th to 20th July

Luna Mora MijasFrom the 18th to 20th July, the streets of the historic centre of Mijas will host the Luna Mora Festival, a unique event which will light up the picturesque town with 5000 candles! 

This is the first time this famous festival – which has been held for the last 18 years in different towns throughout the province of Málaga – is being held in Mijas. Coinciding with the 28th edition of the ‘Villa de Mijas’ theatre festival, visitors to the town will be be treated to a spectacular cultural experience.

If you are planning on visiting Benalmadena next week (from the 23rd June) there are a couple of events you won’t want to miss: The Night of San Juan and the San Juan Fair in Arroyo de la Miel. 

The Night of San Juan is the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of the summer. All over Spain, people flock to the beaches to enjoy a magical night with bonfires, barbecues, fireworks and lots of food and drink!

Benalmadena is no exception with bonfires being lit all along its beaches. This year, there’s the added attraction of a full piro-musical show (fireworks, music and lasers) which takes place just down the road from the hotel, at the Bil-Bil Castle.  Read More…

Malaga Celebrates the 7th Edition of ‘La Noche en Blanco’ With More Than 200 Free Cultural Activities

La Noche en Blanco Malaga 2014Malaga’s ‘La Noche en Blanco’ (White Night) has established itself as one the city’s most important cultural events. This Saturday 10th May from 8:00pm to 02:00am, all who visit the Costa del Sol’s capital will be treated to an unbelievable selection of free cultural activities. 

The event organisers (Malaga City Council’s Department of Culture) hope to break a record this weekend with around 200 activities spread throughout the city and grouped into various themes:

  • Museums
  • Exhibition halls and art galleries
  • Artistic performances and unique street-facing spaces

Visitors will also be able to enjoy activities related to visual arts; literary and scenic get-togethers; concerts; guided tours of attractions which aren’t usually open to the public at these times (such as the Alcazaba fortress) and other programmed surprises during this special evening.  Read More…
