Sunset Beach Club is delighted to be hosting another edition of ‘Costa del Soul’, a week long soul music event featuring some of the top DJ’s from the UK. This will be the 5th year that Costa del Soul comes to Sunset Beach Club and if bookings are anything to go by, this could be the most popular edition to date!
This coming Thursday the 6th June – and until the 16th June – Benalmadena Marina will host its 1st Beer Festival.
This fun concept has been extremely successful in other towns along the Costa del Sol and now it’s finally coming to Benalmadena!
This Beer Festival will bring together the essence of the world famous Oktoberfest celebrations and the hospitality of Benalmadena and its citizens. Anyone who visits the festival will have the opportunity to sample more than 20 different beers from Germany and other parts of the world; and we mustn’t forget the delicious and typical German foods on offer… Roast pork, a wide variety of sausages, sauerkraut and pretzels to name but a few!
For those of you unfamiliar with these gastronomic tapas routes, they are initiatives organised by the local town hall to promote local businesses and encourage local residents and visitors to visit the town centre to enjoy some of the great restaurants and bars.
This first edition of this new tapas route will be held from the 24th May to the 2nd June and, as the name states, has the novelty of including magic shows as part of the experience (Only at weekends).
Approximately twenty bars and restaurants will take part in the event, each offering their very own and unique tapas dish to all visitors; for the – very reasonable – price of €2, you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious tapa and a refreshment (soft drink, beer or glass of wine).
UPDATE: The Over 50’s Show is back on the Costa del Sol this November (2014). For more information about the event please CLICK HERE
This coming weekend sees the return of the extremely popular Over 50’s Show. After 5 successful years being held in Estepona, the show now has an impressive new venue: The Mijas Racecourse.
The Over 50’s Show is based on a formula which has been very successful in Dublin and Belfast (we regularly attend these events with our own stand) and has proved extremely successful in attracting a large and loyal following.

Carnival season is popular in many of the towns and cities located up and down the coast but in this post, we’re going to focus on two cities: Benalmadena (for obvious reasons) and the amazing Málaga Carnival which is probably the most spectacular and colourful of all!
Although we refer to it as ‘Carnival Week’ it actually goes on for a little longer… 10 days. There are literally hundreds of activities and events taking place during these festivities; below, we’ve highlighted some of the most popular you’ll want to look out for in each of the cities.
Following the success of the 1st edition of ‘La Cazuela dela Abuela’ (Grandma’s Casserole) in Fuengirola last year, the town hall has decided to organise ‘Part 2’ of this successful gastronomic initiative.
Originally designed to help promote the town’s excellent selection of restaurants – and to help support the restaurant trade in the quieter off-season – this unique event also helps to introduce visitors to more traditional Spanish dishes and stews.
Due to the great success of last year’s event, Grandma’s Casserole has been extended from 10 days to 17 days (from 15th to 3rd March). Both locals and tourists will have more days to sample the delicious and traditional stews and casseroles which will be available in many of the town’s restaurants. A small casserole and a drink (glass of wine, beer or soft drink) will cost just €2
Next Wednesday the 26th December 2012 sees the start of MIMA 2012, a special event created especially for children which is sure to keep the little ones amused over the Christmas Holidays.
For 10 days (until the 4th January 2013) the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Málaga will become a true ‘Kids Paradise’, a fun fair tailor made to keep kids and parents amused for hours!
Below the high ceilings of the ‘Palacio de Congresos’ an 8000 m2 area will offer a whole range of experiences (over 60) which combine entertainment, fun, sport, shows and education.
