All You Need to Know About This Year’s Fuengirola Fair

The Fuengirola Fair starts on Friday the 6th October. This is one of the most popular festivities in Andalusia and the highlight of the city’s entertainment calendar.

From the 6th to the 12th October, all who visit Fuengirola are in for a fun and entertaining time! The ‘Feria del Rosario’ (named after the city’s patron saint) is the perfect opportunity to experience an authentic taste of Spanish culture.

During the day you can visit many of the different ‘casetas’ where your flamenco dancing skills will be put to the test! Alternatively, you can just sample some of the delicious food and drinks on offer; we recommend you try the typical Andalucian feria drink called a ‘rebujito’ a refreshing mix of manzanilla (or fino) wine, lemonade and lots of ice.

If you haven’t been before, we highly recommend you do so! Get ready for 8 days of fun and entertainment as the city welcomes thousands of visitors from all over Spain for, what has become, the most popular summer fair in Andalucía and one of the most popular festivities in Spain.

The fair starts on Friday 11th August with a special Drone light show at 11:50pm. After the success of last year’s unique show, this year promises to be even more spectacular with 240 drones flying at the same time through the Malaga skies.

From midnight, we’ll be able to enjoy the spectacular pyro-musical and firework display from the cruise terminal access area in Malaga Port. Lasting 20 minutes and using more than 500 kilos of gunpowder, it’s show you wont want to miss!

The official opening of the fair takes place on Saturday 12th August in the same location as last year; the Cortijo de Torres fairground. Local basketball ace Alberto Díaz Ortiz who plays for local club Unicaja will conduct the traditional ‘Pregon’ (opening speech) before the switching on of the fair lights.
