Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Costa are getting ready to celebrate the 7th edition of their annual Tapas Route (Ruta de la Tapa), a gastronomic event which helps promote the town’s culinary culture as well as its establishments.
The route takes place from the 29th May to the 8th June and will have 40 participating bars and restaurants offering mouth-watering tapas for just 2.5€, drink included! (more…)
This week saw the start of a new gastronomic event in MijasTown and La Cala de Mijas: La Ruta del Cuchareo (literally translated as ‘The Spoon Route”).
During the cooler months of winter (January, February and March) locals and visitors will be able to sample a wide selection of tasty local homemade dishes and stews. Many of the bars and restaurants in Mijas and La Cala will be offering a fantastic combination of warm tapa (stew, casserole or rice served in a clay dish) and a drink (beer, wine or soft drink) for just €2 🙂 (more…)
We recently wrote about the Erotic Tapas Route which was to be held in Fuengirola at the start of November. This fun and ‘cheeky’ event has grown in popularity over that last few years and now attracts thousands of visitors from all over Spain.
As it’s such a unique concept, we like to get our roving reporters on the scene to grab photographic evidence of these ‘erotic’ tapas and see what all the fuss is about. Our intrepid colleague, Inma, enlisted the help of some of her friends and – camera in hand – started her adventure visiting many of the bars and restaurants participating in the Erotic Tapas Route. For the 5th consecutive year and thanks to the success of previous editions, this coming Friday the 1st November sees the start of the 5th Erotic Tapas Route in our neighbouring town of Fuengirola.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this unusual and rather ‘spicy’ initiative, it’s erotic and aphrodisiac theme makes for a fun and entertaining experience! (more…)
Next week sees the start of the 6th edition of Benalmadena Town’s popular Tapas Route. From the 18th to the 27th October, many of the Benalmadena’s bars and restaurants will take part in this gastronomic event which every year produces some mouth-watering creations!
The establishments which take part in the Tapas Route will have to prepare a special tapa designed only for this event. This way visitors will be able to make their way around the town following the ‘route’ and trying a different and unique tapa in each bar and restaurant; just make sure they are officially taking part in the event. We’re always looking for fun and interesting things for out guests to do whilst on holiday with us and we think we might well have stumbled across a great one here: Gourmet Tapas Tours in Malaga.
It’s funny how we came across these unique tapas tours… they actually mentioned us on Twitter after having taken a group of guests who were staying at our hotel on one of their fabulous gastronomic tapas tours of Malaga. Turns out they’ve actually had over 30 groups of Sunset Beach Club guests take one of their tours so they must be doing something right 🙂 (more…)
