Why You Need to Visit the 2014 Malaga Fair

Poster for Malaga Fair 2014It’s one of the Costa del Sol’s biggest and most popular events, and it starts this Friday (15th August)… the Malaga Fair (or ‘Feria’ as it is called in Spanish). 

Eight days – and nights – of complete madness where visitors will be treated to the best of Ansalucian culture and traditions. The Malaga Fair has something for everyone: Culture, Great food (and drink!), dancing, live music, entertainment, to name but a few.

This year, there will more than 200 free shows providing over 200 hours of fun and entertainment for all who attend. The official programme is a massive 23 pages long (You can download a copy – in Spanish- HERE) however, for those short on time, we’ve included a list of events and activities which we think you’ll enjoy. This Autumn, Malaga will once again become a haven for art lovers and tourists looking for an enriching cultural experience. Three of the city’s most popular museums have interesting exhibitions planned over the next few months.

Perhaps the most exciting of these exhibitions takes place at Malaga’s Thyssen Museum. Over 50 works will focus on landscapes around Europe, all hand-chosen by owner Baroness Thyssen. The exhibition will feature paintings which span the 19th and 20th centuries, including works from Leger, Courbet, Van Gogh and Monet. (more…)

Lots of Fun for Kids at MIMA 2012 in Málaga

Next Wednesday the 26th December 2012 sees the start of MIMA 2012, a special event created especially for children which is sure to keep the little ones amused over the Christmas Holidays.

For 10 days (until the 4th January 2013) the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Málaga will become a true ‘Kids Paradise’, a fun fair tailor made to keep kids and parents amused for hours!

Below  the high ceilings of the ‘Palacio de Congresos’ an 8000 m2 area will offer a whole range of experiences (over 60) which combine entertainment, fun, sport, shows and education.

Places to See: La Concepcion Botanical Gardens in Málaga

La Concepcion Botanical GardensIf you’re a nature lover and enjoy a little peace and tranquillity (at least once in a while) during your holidays, we highly recommend you visit the ‘La Concepcion’ Botanical Gardens in Malaga.

Located just north of the city centre, these vast and spectacular gardens are now part of the ‘Ciudad de Malaga’ (Malaga City) Municipal Botanical Trust.
