St Patrick’s Day is a popular celebration in Benalmadena. Every year over 1000 people (Irish locals, visitors and pretty much anyone looking to have a good craic) join in the parade in the centre of town and the amazing party which takes place afterwards!

It’s no secret that Sunset Beach Club is an Irish-owned hotel, therefore, the 17th March is an important day in our calendar. Every year we prepare our “Sunset Style” celebrations. This year they’ll include consuming copious amounts of Guinness at the Panorama Bar and a fantastic “Irish Themed” buffet dinner for all our guests in our newly refurbished Oasis Restaurant!

This year’s celebrations in Arroyo de la Miel have now been confirmed. Weather permitting, we’ll all be able to enjoy a fun day out on the 17th March!

If you’re looking for a plan for St Patrick’s day, here’s what we recommend you do:

1)  When you wake up, head down to our stunning new Oasis Restaurant and tuck into the hot buffet breakfast; you’re going to need something solid in your stomach before venturing out and enjoying the festivities  😉 Our animation team will be handing out balloons to all the kids!

2)  After breakfast, you’ll want to make your way into the centre of Benalmadena (Arroyo de la Miel) where the St Patrick’s day festivities start. Mass at the Catholic Church (Inmaculada Concepción – beside the train station) starts at 1:30pm but the party will have already started at Plaza la Mezquita.

After mass at approximately 1:30pm, you’ll join the Parade organised by The Irish Association of Spain and head down to Plaza de la Mezquita where you’ll be able to enjoy the traditional St. Patrick’s Day party which includes dancers, singers and performers who will be entertaining the crowds throughout the day.  Of course, there will also be great food and the best Guinness in the area!!!

3)  At 6:30pm, make sure you head back to Sunset Beach Club to enjoy our Happy Hour in the Panorama Bar. Half-price drinks until 7:30pm as well as complimentary smoked salmon canapés. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a selfie photo in our special St Patrick’s Day photo booth. There will be costumes available to try on for your photo and if you share it on social media, you could win a t-shirt!

4)  Dinner at the Oasis Restaurant from 6:30pm: Try our great-value evening buffet featuring traditional Irish specials to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. Price is €20 per person (drinks not included). Please note that we also have our regular a la carte menu available in our La Terraza restaurant.

5) Head up to the Moonlight Bar at 9.30pm to enjoy live music with a traditional Irish Band.

So what do you think? Sounds like a good plan doesn’t it? Hurry up and make your booking by calling the restaurant on extension 7900. Local residents who are not staying in the hotel are more than welcome to come and join in the fun! (please call 952 579400 – ext 7900 for reservations).
