Festival de la Luna Mora de GuaroOn the 6th and 7th September – the picturesque white village of Guaro celebrates the 23rd edition of its famous ‘Luna Mora’ Festival.

As has been the case the last two years, this year’s festivities have been reduced to two days (It’s used to be four) but they’ve still managed to put together an impressive programme of events with activities and entertainment for all the family.

Throughout the weekend, the village becomes a meeting point for traditional Andalusí music and culture. The streets come alive in the evenings with the stunning illumination of 25,000 candles strategically positioned to create a unique and magical ambiance. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the traditional Arab artisan market, workshops (Henna and belly dancing), street performers, storytelling and mouth-watering gastronomy.

On both Friday and Saturday evening, the Luna Mora auditorium will host live music concerts. On Friday the 6th pianist Diego Valdivia and dancer Laura Martinez take to the stage and on Saturday 7th visitors can enjoy the 50th Anniversary Festival of Flamenco artist Capullo de Jerez (Tickets available on www.malagaentradas.com).
