Malaga
The cultural capital of the Costa del Sol, and home to the area’s International Airport. Málaga known locally for it’s cosmopolitan cafes and bars, not to mention it’s beautiful boutiques and bustling port. Malaga centre also offers culture, with it’s roman theatre, classic cathedral, roman theatre and regular street markets. Picasso Museum
Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, so where better place than right in the centre, to put a Museum of many of his masterpieces.

Cathedral (‘La Manquita’)
Open to the public everyday but Sunday, Malaga’s cathedral is a beautiful building with an unfinished tower, which is why it is often given the name “La Manquita” meaning One Armed Woman.

Parador (state run hotel)
Which was once a Moorish castle, it boasts panoramic views over Malaga city and out across the port and ocean.

Jardines de la Concepción
Beside the park, these Gardens have one of the best collections of tropical plants and flowers in the whole of Europe, closed on Mondays.

Palacio de Congresos
Malaga boasts a recently built, very modern Conference and exhibition centre. There are different kinds of shows, fairs and exhibitions going on here throughout the year.

And of course, like any other large city, Malaga also offers many churches and other monuments. So you can spend a day exploring or simply relax and enjoy the cultural surroundings from a wide range of bars and cafes. |
