Easter Holidays & Spring Breaks
Spring is arguably the best time to visit the Costa del Sol. Bright blue skies, warm evenings and quieter streets and beaches are just a few of the reasons to visit Sunset Beach Club in the springtime. This time of year is ideal for enjoying the Spanish "al fresco" lifestyle to the full!
During the Easter school holidays we offer a fun-packed activity programme for all the family!
Easter Celebrations
|
Easter sees one of Malaga's most famous street processions. If you are visiting during this time, do not miss a visit to the night-time "Semana Santa" (Easter) religious processions. Here you will experience a unique celebration, where thousands of Spanish people take to the streets, many barefoot and dressed as Nazarenes. Our leisure desk can inform you about how to get there and what time is best to go. |
Cruces de Mayo
|
May also bears witness to one of Andalucia's prettiest religious customs, with the "Cruces de Mayo" (May crosses) tradition. On the 1st of May, many houses display beautiful homemade crosses made of fresh flowers. The smell is glorious! May Crosses can be seen in most towns in Andalucia, including Benalmadena, Malaga, Mijas & Torremolinos. Ask at our leisure desk for information. |
Golf on the Costa del Sol
 |
Spring is also a popular time for golfers, who can combine their favourite sport with some relaxation by the pool, and even go home with a suntan! Indeed the high season for golf is between October to May, when clear blue skies prevail, and temperatures generally settle around 19ºC. |
Play Bridge
|
Bridge parties and other specialist groups also enjoy the relatively quieter springtime on the Costa del Sol, where they can enjoy their favourite pasttime amongst friends, and still have time to enjoy strolls along the promenade, long lunches al fresco and excursions to Spanish cities. |
Bowling & Petanca Holidays
 |
Spring weather is perfect for bowling and petanca. On the seafront promenade in front of Sunset Beach Club, there are two petanca courts. Our entertainment team organize games, or you can book to play at the nearby Benalmadena Bowls Club.

Al fresco lifestyle
 |
In April/May the beach bars start to re-open after an extended Winter break, and the weather is perfect for relaxing in an informal beach restaurant or street café. Local delicacies include "boquerones fritos" (deep fried white anchovies), "calamares" (squid), "almejas" (clams, usually served with plenty of white wine and garlic sauce), "gambas pil-pil" (prawns in olive oil with garlic and chillies) and of course "paella". Cold beer, white wine or sangría offer the ideal accompaniment.

Luna Beach Club opens in May
 |
At Sunset Beach Club, Luna Beach Club also re-opens in May/June, and offers a wide menu of meals and snacks for all the family, including platters for sharing, salads, sandwiches and daily specials, all served in a fantastic beachside location. In the spring time, our Oasis Restaurant also very much extends to the outside, where you can eat in the comfort of our partly shaded Polynesian style Terrace. |
