At Sunset Beach Club, we know how important it is that all the family is happy on holiday.  The children need to be entertained, and Mum and Dad need to relax...!  It sounds like an impossible task, but we pull out all the stops to provide the ingredients for a fantastic Summer holiday for the whole family...

Aqualand Torremolinos


There are many ideal activities for the family near Benalmadena Costa; the Water parks of Mijas and Torremoinos, Fuengirola Zoo, Tivoli World Amusement Park in Arroyo de la Miel, Sealife in Benalmadena Marina, Cable Car in Benalmadena, and much more.  Check out our What to Do pages or at the Leisure Desk when on site, where you can book Excursions, golf, car hire & tickets to many local attractions.

Luna Beach Club Benalmadena


The seaside promenade in front of the hotel is ideal for a stroll along the Mediterranean Sea, and either side you will find sandy beaches.  To the West you will find our fantastic Luna Beach Club Bar &  Restaurant, a great place to combine lunch with a day on the beach, or enjoy an evening meal al fresco.  Again, all the family is catered for with dishes for every taste.  In the Summer, this is a great spot to watch the sun go down with a cool drink or a cocktail... watch out for our popular BBQs and live entertainment specials!

Summer on the Costa del Sol also bears witness to some special festivities and local traditions:-

18th of June - Corpus Christi

This is a religious event celebrated with processions in the centre of Malaga, but is not a holiday.

23rd of June (Approx.) - San Juan

San Juan is the longest day of the year and is celebrated with bonfires, fireworks and parties on the beach.  The tradition is to dip your feet in the sea just after midnight for good luck.

16th of July - Virgen del Carmen

Virgen del Carmen is the patron of the sea and used to be a holiday in Malaga.  Held at midnight on July 16th the towns and fishing villages of the coast parade their statues of La Virgin del Carmen by the water and along the beaches, and set sail in boats, accompanied by the sound of blowing of horns and the setting off of fireworks.

The Malaga Feria in August

The traditional summer Malaga festival "Feria" is in the 3rd week of August; a weeklong festival of fun, flamenco, guitar, singing, eating, drinking, traditional dress & horse parades. A feast of colour, daytime celebrations take place in the city centre; at night bars and fairground rides bustle on the outskirts of the city. There are special bullfights around feria time.

Asunción de la Virgen

15th of August is a national holiday celebrating one of the patrons of Spain - Asunción de la Virgen.
