Prison Island: Benalmadena’s Most Popular Adventure Attraction is back!

After being closed for the last 2 years due to the pandemic, this fun attraction is once again open to the public! And  they’ve updated many of the cells and games to create new challenges 🙂

Located in Benalmadena Marina’s main shopping centre, this fun attraction promises hours of fun and adventure for all the family (from 9 to 99 years of age!). Based on hit TV show ‘Fort Boyard’ the Prison Island experience requires participants to work in teams to solve tricky challenges and tasks in a series of ‘cells’ in order to collect the maximum number of points. These challenges require a series of skills including physical, mental and tactical.

Laser Island: Enjoy a Game of Laser Tag in Benalmadena

Laser Island in BenalmadenaOur friends from Prison Island, the adventure park and ‘escape room’ in the Marina, have recently re-opened Laser Island, a Laser Tag theme park based on a galactic battle which is ideal for all age groups. The park has been closed for the past two years due to the pandemic, but we’re delighted to report that they are open again!

Equipped with latest-generation vests and laser guns, you’ll be able to choose from a selection of different game options: In teams, everyone against everyone, trying to obtain the maximum number of possible points or capturing the opposing team’s flags.

The guys at Laser Island highlight the importance of teamwork. Don’t let yourself get trapped, hide well, chase your opponents and most importantly… Don’t shoot your own teammates! (more…)

Crocodile Park: Home to ‘Paco’ the 600 Kg Monster Croc!

Crocodile Park in TorremolinosOne of the most popular places to visit in the Benalmadena/Torremolinos area is the Crocodile Park. If you’ve got kids and are looking for a fun day out, you’ll definitely want to add this one to your to-do list!

Located next to the popular water park in Torremolinos, the Crocodile Park is home to more than 200 crocodiles, including ‘Paco’(also known as Big Daddy), a 600 kg monster croc!

The visit to the park lasts approximately 2 hours and includes guided tours and live demonstrations. Watching ‘Paco’ at feeding time must be quite a spectacle 🙂 The Park’s experienced guides show you how they handle these fascinating creatures and explain the intricate details of the croc’s lifestyle. Local Photographic Exhibition Features Images of Benalmádena Taken Over the Last 60 Years

Exposición Benalmádena de Ayer y HoySince  the 30th October the Benalmadena Exhibition Centre (Located just in from of the Riviera Hotel) has been featuring a stunning collection of photographs which highlight Benalmadena’s urban evolution over the past 60 years.

The exhibition, named ‘Benalmadena de Ayer y Hoy’ (Benalmadena of Yesterday and Today), features over 100 photos from an important database of images collected and treasured over the last 60 years by local families and with contributions from the Local Library’s archives.  (more…)

Ice Skating in Benalmádena at the Club Municipal de Hielo

We’re fortunate enough to have one of the first permanent (and covered) ice skating rinks in all of Andalucia. Located in the ‘Club Municipal de Hielo’ in Arroyo de la Miel, this superb facility boasts a 900 square metre ice rink.

If you’re looking for a fun activity for all the family or are visiting Benalmadena during the quieter winter months, a visit to the ice skating rink is the perfect choice for an enjoyable afternoon out.

*Please note that if you’re planning on going ice skating, you are required to wear gloves, socks and long trousers.
