Sander: The New Manager for Luna Beach<\/p><\/div>\n

As many of you will know, we will soon be opening our new beach Club: Luna Beach. Refurbishment work is going well and we\u2019ll be looking to open to the public very soon!<\/p>\n

Yesterday, I spent a few minutes talking to Sander Klomp, the latest addition to the Sunset Beach Club team and the new Manager for our beach club operation (Luna Beach and Salitos Bar). Here\u2019s a brief recap of our conversation:<\/p>\n

Sander isn\u2019t a very Spanish name\u2026where are you from?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m actually from Holland.<\/p>\n

How long have you been in Spain?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I moved here just over 2 years ago. I\u2019ve been living in the Estepona and working in the area surrounding Sotogrande and Alcaidesa<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your background and can you tell us a little about where you\u2019ve been working before joining Sunset?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I studied hotel management in Maastricht and then spent the next seven years working in various F&B positions within the hotel and catering industry.<\/p>\n

When I moved to Spain two years ago, I started working as Assistant F&B Manager at the 4 star Aldiana Hotel in Alcaidesa, between Sotogrande and Gibraltar. I spent a year there and then moved on to work at the Hotel La Almorraina, a small 4 star boutique hotel located in Castellar de La Frontera.<\/p>\n

What languages do you speak?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I speak Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish, well it\u2019s actually more Andalusian!!!<\/p>\n

What plans do you have for Luna Beach?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I know that the old Pierino\u2019s Beach Restaurant had a very loyal clientele and we\u2019ll be looking to continue the previous tenant\u2019s good work. We\u2019d like to make Luna Beach \u201cthe\u201d place to go during the summer months: We\u2019ve invested heavily in refurbishment with new seating areas and special sail awnings; I\u2019ll be working closely with the head chef to prepare an exciting and \u201cdifferent\u201d menu and we will be arranging various events throughout the summer \u2013 live music, DJ\u2019s, etc \u2013 It\u2019s definitely going to be a fantastic venue for hotel guests and local residents to enjoy some quality R&R in our very own \u201coasis\u201d by the sea.<\/p>\n
