\"Feria<\/a>Our neighbours in Fuengirola are celebrating their local \u201cFeria\u201d this week (starts on the 6th<\/sup> October and ends on the 12th<\/sup>). Referred to as the \u201cFeria del Rosario\u201d \u2013 in honour of the town\u2019s patron saint \u2013 it is famous for its\u2019 horse exhibitions and processions.<\/p>\n

We thought it would be interesting (and fun!) to give you a checklist of things you should do during this year\u2019s Fuengirola Fair\u2026 so here goes:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Go and watch the official \u201cswitching on\u201d of the Fair Lights. Takes place on the 6th<\/sup> October at 10:30pm at the Palacio dela Paz.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Watch the \u201cMisa Flamenca\u201d (Flamenco Mass) in honour of the Patron Saint, La Virgendel Rosario Coronada. There will also be a procession which leaves from the Plaza de la Constituci\u00f3nin the town centre. 7th<\/sup> October at 10:30am.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Horse Show and Exhibition in the Fuengirola Bull Ring. 12:00pm on the 8th<\/sup> October \u2013 Entrance is Free<\/p>\n

4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Horse and Carriage Procession in the Antonio Jos\u00e9 Gal\u00e1n square (in the main Fair ground) \u2013 Starts at 5:00pm on the 8th<\/sup> October.<\/p>\n

5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experience a true traditional bullfight at 5:30pm on the 9th<\/sup> October \u2013 Fuengirola Bullring. Top class fighters Manuel D\u00edas \u201cEl Cordob\u00e9s\u201d, Daniel Luque and Jim\u00e9nez Fortes.<\/p>\n

6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Get ready for some fun with the kids by taking them to the Fun Fair on the 10th<\/sup> October. Why this day? Because all children\u2019s rides are discounted by 50%! There\u2019s also a Children\u2019s Party with theatre, face painting and balloons at 6:00pm.<\/p>\n

7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One for all the family\u2026 the Comic Bullfighting Show \u201cEl Bombero Torero\u201d (The Firefighting Bullfighter). Takes place in the Fuengirola Bullring with tickets priced at \u20ac15 for adults and \u20ac10 for kids.<\/p>\n

8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Visit one of the many \u201cCasetas\u201d in the fairground and sample a glass of sherry or wine and some delicious \u201cJam\u00f3n\u201d. If you feel up to it you can also have a go at Flamenco dancing!<\/p>\n

9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you have a late night out, it is tradition to enjoy some \u201cChurros\u201d and Hot Chocolate first thing in the morning in one of the cafeterias that offer this traditional Spanish breakfast. If you don\u2019t know what they are, make sure you give them a try, they\u2019re great for the hangover!<\/p>\n
