A new exhibition featuring the Holy Shroud was opened to the public in Malaga on Thursday 23rd<\/sup> February. This was in fact the world debut of this fascinating exhibition which locals and visitors to Malaga will be able to see until mid June \u2013 after this date it will relocate to other cities in Europe and the Americas.<\/p>\n

As we approach the Easter celebrations, this exhibition will undoubtedly become a major highlight for tourists who flock to the Costa del Sol\u2019s capital for its popular Easter processions. This is actually the first time that the Holy Shroud \u2013 one of the most studied religious artefacts in history – receives its own featured exhibition.<\/p>\n

The Holy Shroud exhibition is located in a special designated area of the Malaga Cathedral and occupies an area of 600m2. Divided into 12 separate halls, the exhibition includes an audio guide system (in 6 languages) which allows visitors to explore the history of Jesus of Nazarez; Works of art, coins and codices help to demonstrate and reveal information that certifies the Holy Shroud\u2019s \u2013 supposed \u2013 journey to the Italian city of Turin, the city in which it is presently located.<\/p>\n

We recommend you visit two of the most interesting halls of the exhibition: The Forensic Hall and the Scientific Hall. Both areas reveal the exhaustive studies which have been undertaken by experts in this area, including a team of 33 scientists from NASA!<\/p>\n

These are the 3 unique pieces which you will be able to see at the exhibition:<\/p>\n

  1. An exact copy of the Holy Shroud, specially made for this collection by a laboratory inTurin.<\/li>\n
  2. A lifesize recreation of what Jesus\u2019 tomb would have looked like.<\/li>\n
  3. A reconstruction of the man of the Holy Shroud. This sculpture has been created by the prestigious Juan Manuel Mi\u00f1arro.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
