Malaga is getting ready to celebrate the 5th<\/sup> edition of its \u2018White Night\u2019 (La Noche en Blanco) cultural event. Last year the Costa del Sol\u2019s capital was flooded with just over 200,000 visitors who flocked to experience some of the activities and entertainment on offer during this unique evening.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, this year the event has been hit by the economic crisis and will suffer an important 50% reduction in its budget. Although the overall investment in the event wont reach \u20ac60,000, the mayor of Malaga, Francisco dela Torre, has publicly stated that the program for this years event will be more ambitious and will offer more spaces and activities.<\/p>\n

Just a quick reminder that during the \u2018White Night\u2019 all activities in the official program are free! If you\u2019re interested, you\u2019ll have to head to Malaga on the evening of the 12th<\/sup> May between 8:00pm and 2:00am.<\/p>\n

There are approximately 160 activities and shows programmed throughout the city. It\u2019s impossible to include them all in this post; however, we will highlight some of the activities and shows you won\u2019t want to miss:<\/p>\n

  1. Art <\/strong>– All museums in M\u00e1laga will be open from 8:00pm to 2:00am and you\u2019ll be able to see all this amazing art for free! This is the perfect chance to see the Picasso Museum and the Carmen Thyssen Museum \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n
  2. Street Art<\/strong> \u2013 Visit the \u2018Poor Man\u2019s Piano\u2019, a large piano which has been set up in the \u2018Tribuna de los Pobres\u2019 and where you\u2019ll be able to show off your musical talents as you use your feet to play different tunes. We also recommend you take a walk down Malaga\u2019s famous Calle Larios where you\u2019ll come across strange creatures who will be dishing out gestures, advice and hugs\u2026<\/li>\n
  3. Music<\/strong> \u2013 From the delicate sounds of a single piano located in the centre of \u2018Plaza del Obispo\u2019 to the jazz bands playing in the streets and a Flamenco show in the \u2018Caf\u00e9 Central\u2019, there\u2019s something for all.<\/li>\n
  4. Visual Art<\/strong> \u2013 Make your way to \u2018Calle Alcazabilla\u2019 and press the smile button\u2026then wait to see what happens on the large screen! After this experience, visit the Interactive Museum of Music where \u2018Urban Sketchers\u2019 \u2013 a group of artists \u2013 will literally \u2018draw the music\u2019 in the main exhibition hall.<\/li>\n
  5. Extraordinary Visits <\/strong>\u2013 Make the most of this fantastic opportunity to visit the Alcazaba which will be offering the \u2018Visita de los Sentidos\u2019 (Visit of the Senses); a chance to see this impressive building lit up with artificial lighting and witness some of the most spectacular panoramic views of the city.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
