\"La<\/a>Following the success of the 1st<\/sup> edition of \u2018La Cazuela dela Abuela\u2019 (Grandma\u2019s Casserole) in Fuengirola last year, the town hall has decided to organise \u2018Part 2\u2019 of this successful gastronomic initiative.<\/p>\n

Originally designed to help promote the town\u2019s excellent selection of restaurants \u2013 and to help support the restaurant trade in the quieter off-season \u2013 this unique event also helps to introduce visitors to more traditional Spanish dishes and stews.<\/p>\n

Due to the great success of last year\u2019s event, Grandma\u2019s Casserole has been extended from 10 days to 17 days (from 15th<\/sup> to 3rd<\/sup> March). Both locals and tourists will have more days to sample the delicious and traditional stews and casseroles which will be available in many of the town\u2019s restaurants. A small casserole and a drink (glass of wine, beer or soft drink) will cost just \u20ac2 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although the \u2018La Cazuela de la Abuela\u2019 initiative bears resemblance to another of Fuengirola\u2019s star events – The Erotic Tapas Route<\/a><\/span> \u2013 it differs in that it focuses more on the tasting (and recognition) of traditional dishes which so many Spaniards were brought up on as kids.<\/p>\n

As is now tradition, the organizers will also be holding a competition in which all those who wish to participate will have to collect no less than five different \u2018La Cazuela de la Abuela\u2019 stamps from participating restaurants. It\u2019ll be easy to distinguish these establishments as they\u2019ll have a distinctive sign or poster outside (like the one in the photo above).<\/p>\n

Once the visitors have collected their 5 stamps, they will have to go to the Tourist Office where they\u2019ll receive a surprise gift and \u00a0entered into a prize draw where they can win various free dinners.<\/p>\n
