Believe it or not, the south of Spain is regarded as one of the best places in Europe for bird watching enthusiasts and these new guided tours provide some fascinating itineraries and activities which will take you to all the best spots.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a quick preview of the great places you can visit on one of these guided birdwatching tours:<\/p>\n

  1. La Laguna<\/strong> de Fuente Piedra<\/strong> \u2013 This is a great spot to watch Flamingos all year round. You\u2019ll also be able to see Purple Swamphens, Avocets, Shrikes, Crested Larks and Stone-Curlews.<\/li>\n
  2. The Guadalhorce river mouth<\/strong> \u2013 Breeding ground for White-headed Ducks, Booted Eagles, Cormotants, Herons and Waders.<\/li>\n
  3. The River Palmones Estuary<\/strong> \u2013 This is the last step of migrant birds before they cross theStrait ofGibraltar. You\u2019ll see Storks, Waders and Ospreys, as well as Marsh Harriers, Herons and Gulls.<\/li>\n
  4. El Chorro<\/strong> \u2013 An impressive population of Griffon Vultures are the highlight of this visit which will also allow you to see Choughs, Egyptian Vultures and Short Toed Eagles. The green woods surrounding the large reservoirs of El Chorro are home to Warblers, Tits and Finches.<\/li>\n
  5. Day of Ringing the Birds<\/strong> in the \u2018Montes de M\u00e1laga\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
