This marks the start of a fortnight full of colour, creativity and fun with activities and events for all ages.<\/p>\n<p>After months of preparation and rehearsals, the BenalmadenaTown Hall has just presented the full <b>programme of events for the Carnival<\/b> which take place in Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Pueblo.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s lots planned for the next two weeks; below you\u2019ll find a selection of the most popular events:\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>21<sup>st<\/sup> February<\/h3>\n<p>9:00pm: <b>Election of the Carnival Drag Queen<\/b> in the \u2018Plaza de la Mezquita\u2019.<\/p>\n<h3>22<sup>nd<\/sup> February<\/h3>\n<p>7:00pm: <b>Great Carnival Parade and Fancy Dress Contest in Benalm\u00e1dena Pueblo<\/b>. Starts from \u2018Jardines del Muro\u2019 and ends in \u2018Plaza del Alguacil\u2019<\/p>\n<p>7:30pm to 10:30pm: <b>Great Carnival Ball in Benalm\u00e1dena Pueblo<\/b> (Plaza del Alguacil)<\/p>\n<h3>1st March<\/h3>\n<p>6:00pm: <b>Great Carnival Parade and Fancy Dress Contest in Arroyo de la Miel. Starts from the Tivoli World car park.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>7:30pm to 10:30pm: <b>Great Carnival Ball<\/b> in \u2018Plaza de la Mezquita\u2019<\/p>\n<h3>2<sup>nd<\/sup> March<\/h3>\n<p>12:00pm: <b>Desfile de la Quema de la Lagartija<\/b> (Arroyo de la Miel) \u2013 This is a traditional parade featuring a large cardboard lizard. The lizard gets paraded through the streets of Arroyo before being burned.<\/p>\n<p>1:00pm: <b>Quema de la Lagartija<\/b> (Burning of the Lizard) in Paloma Park Fair Ground marks the official end of the Carnival.<\/p>\n<p>1:00pm: <b>Gastronomic Carnival<\/b> with lots food, music and singing.<\/p>\n<p>Are you planning on taking part in this year\u2019s Benalmadena Carnival?
