\"RondaMore than 20,000 people descended upon the beautiful city of Ronda this weekend to celebrate the 3rd<\/sup> edition of Ronda Rom\u00e1ntica,<\/strong> the city\u2019s May Fair which offers a fascinating look at its history and traditions.<\/p>\n

During the three day festivities, locals and visitors were taken on a voyage of discovery to 19th<\/sup> century Spain, a time of bandits, muleteers and romantic travellers.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of locals from Ronda and the surrounding towns and villages participated in this unique recreation of 19th<\/sup> century life in this stunning part of Andalucia<\/strong>. Dressed in typical clothes and garments of the time, these colourful characters took part in a historical street parade and representations of different historic events. The sound and smell of gunpowder, artisans markets and equestrian exhibitions are just some of experiences enjoyed by visitors during the celebrations.<\/p>\n

The locals also spent hours decorating the streets and shop windows of the city with colourful and eye-catching flowers, plants and banners, transforming Ronda into the most romantic of destinations.<\/p>\n

Another of the unquestionable stars of the event were the horses which were also dressed in stunning attire, typical of the 19th<\/sup> century, and their elegant riders also wearing their traditional garments.<\/p>\n
