\"JulioThe city of Malaga is getting ready to host, for the 4th\u00a0year running, a fabulous series of summer evening concerts<\/strong>. This latest edition, of what has become a consolidated event in the city\u2019s summer events calendar, will delight spectators with a series of free\u00a0music concerts to be held in the Gibralfaro Castle and the Alcazaba fortress.<\/p>\n

The Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra, musical \u2018ensemble\u2019, \u2018M\u00fasicos Concerto M\u00e1laga, Duo del Valle, The Insostenible Big Band, Coral C\u00e1rmina Nova and M\u00fasica Prima<\/strong>, will be performing in two of Malaga\u2019s most iconic land marks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

All concerts are free of charge<\/strong>\u00a0but you need to register beforehand and there will be a draw to determine who gets tickets. This year’s series of concerts pays special tribute to two great writer: Cervantes and Shakespeare and will include a much more extensive programme than last year’s event.<\/p>\n

The series of concerts start on Firday 8th<\/sup> July in the Gibralfaro Castle (Plaza de Armas) and ends on the 30th<\/sup> July in the same setting.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the official programme for \u2018Musical July\u2019 concerts:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friday 8th July<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/h3>\n

The M\u00e1laga Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Josep Vicent, will offer a concert featuring musical classics such as ‘Romeo and Juliet’ by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev. The following soloists will also be performing: Marisa Martins (Soprano), Gerardo L\u00f3pez (Tenor) and Isidro Anaya (Baritone).<\/p>\n

Friday 15th July<\/em><\/h3>\n

The piano duo made up of brothers Victor and Luis del Valle, D\u00fao del Valle, will perform a concert which includes music from Mozart, Mendelssohn, Ravel and Gershwin.<\/p>\n

Saturday 16th July<\/em><\/h3>\n

The ‘Coral C\u00e1rmina Nova’ will perform a repertoire dedicated to Shakespeare with music from Morley, Bennet or Dowland as well as a tribute to Cervantes with works from Francisco Guerrero, Juen V\u00e1zquez or Diego Ortiz.<\/p>\n

Thursday 21st July\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n

Concert by musical ensemble ‘M\u00fasicos Concerto M\u00e1laga’ with music by Teleman, Boccherini, Turina, Granados and Alb\u00e9niz amongst others.<\/p>\n

Friday 22nd July\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n

Concert by ‘M\u00fasica Prima’, a group of musicians who specialise en repertoires which span from medieval to Latin American Barroque and who will offer a programme which will represent the works of composers such as Juan del Encina, Johannes Cornago or Juan Ara\u00f1\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Saturday 23rd July\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n

The ‘Insostenible Big Band’ presents a programme called ‘Such Sweet Thunder’, a tribute to the unforgettable Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn with music inspired in ‘Lady Macbeth’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ as well as a repertoire of Jazz and Swing.<\/p>\n

Saturday 30th July\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n

The M\u00e1laga Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Arturo D\u00edaz Boscovich, will play various pieces including music by Gurudi and Bernstein.<\/p>\n
