Next Sunday 27th<\/sup> September 2026 is World Tourism Day<\/strong> and to celebrate this special occasion, Malaga Town Hall, in conjunction with the city\u2019s main museums and monuments, has prepared a special events programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative \u2013 promoted by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) \u2013 aims to raise awareness of the important impact tourism has on countries and communities around the world; socially, culturally, politically and economically. This year\u2019s event goes under the following slogan: Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Tourism has always evolved through innovation, and Artificial Intelligence is set to become its next major transformation. World Tourism Day 2026 will explore how AI can help create smarter, more inclusive and sustainable tourism by enhancing decision-making, strengthening skills, and improving the way destinations are experienced and managed. – www.untourism.int<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate this unique day, many of Malaga\u2019s top tourist attractions will be celebrating an \u2018Open Day\u2019 with free entrance<\/strong> – at certain times of the day – to their facilities for all who visit. Some of the participating museums and monuments will also offer free guided tours (see link below for details). Some of these guided tours will be in high demand so we recommend you turn up early to avoid disappointment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
