Next Saturday 27th<\/sup> September 2025 is World Tourism Day<\/strong> and to celebrate this special occasion, Malaga Town Hall, in conjunction with the city\u2019s main museums and monuments, has prepared a special events programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative \u2013 promoted by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) \u2013 aims to raise awareness of the important impact tourism has on countries and communities around the world; socially, culturally, politically and economically. This year\u2019s event goes under the following slogan: Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

“Tourism is often highlighted for its role in economic development. But it is more than that. It is a catalyst for social progress, delivering education, employment and creating new opportunities for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the sector demands more than growth alone. To unlock these benefits, a deliberate and inclusive approach is essential, one that places sustainability, resilience and social equity at the core of tourism development and decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Tourism Day 2025, under the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation<\/a>“, highlights tourism\u2019s transformative potential as an agent of positive change.\u201d – www.unwto.org<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate this unique day, many of Malaga\u2019s top tourist attractions will be celebrating an \u2018Open Day\u2019 with free entrance<\/strong> – at certain times of the day – to their facilities for all who visit. Some of the participating museums and monuments will also offer free guided tours (see link below for details). Some of these guided tours will be in high demand so we recommend you turn up early to avoid disappointment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
