The town hall has invested heavily in the growth of its historical and artistic heritage and now offers visitors an impressive collection of more than 30 museums, each with its own unique and varied theme.<\/p>\n<p>The most popular include The Picasso Museum, Centre Pompidou and the Carmen Thyssen museum and each attracts hundreds of thousands of art enthusiasts every year. However, Malaga has other museums which, although not as famous, are definitely worth a visit.<\/p>\n<p>Below you\u2019ll find information on six of our favourite Malaga museums you might not have heard of.<\/p>\n<p><em>*Opening Hours and prices in this post were updated in August 2020 and are for guideline purposes only, subject to change. Please check the museum websites for latest information.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Centro de Arte Contemporaneo de M\u00e1laga (CAC) <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Malaga\u2019s museum of contemporary art opened to the public on the 17th February 2003 and fulfils the Malaga City Councils objective of spreading the popularity of visual and plastic art from the 1970\u2019s to the present day.<\/p>\n<p>This unique museum is characterised by its dynamism and the importance it places on reflexion, teaching and dissemination of contemporary art. The Haute Couture collection features exclusive creations by some of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century\u2019s greatest designers including, Chanel, Dior, Givenchy and Valentino as well as a large collection of vintage hats from designers like Balenciaga. Some of the most impressive articles of clothing include dresses belonging to Lady Gaga and Madonna and one of Michael Jackson\u2019s jackets.<\/p>\n<p>This is definitely a museum to be enjoyed by all the family as there really is something for everyone, from the little ones to grandparents!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Address:<\/strong> Edificio Tabacalera, Av. (entrance price includes tour by a qualified guide)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Museo del Vino M\u00e1laga<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The \u2018Museo del Vino M\u00e1laga\u2019 (Malaga Wine Museum) is located in the Palacio de Biedmas, a restored 18<sup>th<\/sup> century building in the city\u2019s historic centre.<\/p>\n<p>Here visitors will learn about the art, history and culture of wines produced in the province of Malaga. The museum boasts an impressive collection of more than 400 lithographs (wine bottle labels and posters from the end of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century to the start of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century), a wine tasting room and a special classroom for teaching and training purposes.<\/p>\n<p>More than a museum, it\u2019s an educational institution whose aim is to spread the culture of wine, and more specifically, wine produced in the Malaga province, as well as train others in techniques such as production, conservation and promotion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Address:<\/strong> Plaza de los Vi\u00f1eros 1, 29008, M\u00e1laga<\/p>\n<p><strong>Website:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museovinomalaga.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">www.museovinomalaga.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Opening Hours:<\/strong> Monday to Friday 10:00am to 5:00pm. Saturday 10:00am to 2:00pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entrance Price:<\/strong> \u20ac5 (Includes two wine tastings)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Museo Interactivo de la M\u00fasica (MIMMA)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The MIMMA is an interactive music museum located in the old \u2018Conde de Navas\u2019 Palace dating back to the 18th century.<\/p>\n<p>A visit to this museum promises and fun and educational experience and is especially suited to families with kids. The whole experience is designed to encourage participation and interaction.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll find an impressive collection of musical instruments from all over the world and from different periods in time. A great escape from the fast-paced world that we live in, where both children and adults can explore new things and be surprised by visual illusions, music that can be heard not only with your ears, an exciting game of light and shadow, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>The interactive museum of illusions in Malaga is sure to bring out the child in adults, and the imagination in children.
