Next week Benalmadena will host the 2nd<\/sup> Half Marathon and 5th<\/sup> Coast Run<\/strong> organised by Holiday World Resort and the Benalmadena Town Hall. All funds raised during both events will go to the Proyecto Hombre foundation in M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This fun event has experienced a continuous growth in number of participants \u2013 this year they expect 1500 people to take part<\/strong> \u2013 and has become one of the most popular and important events in Benalmadena\u2019s sporting calendar. As this is a family event, adults and kids alike will be able to enjoy music, entertainment and a large paella<\/strong> in the Holiday World Beach Club after the run.  Families of runners and other non-runners can all gain access to the Beach Club by paying \u20ac6 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events starts at 10:00am on Sunday 8th<\/sup> March from the famous elephant roundabout at the entrance to the Holiday World Resort. Participants will run along the Benalmadena coastline until they reach the Marina and will be able to choose from 3 different distances: 5km, 10km and 21km<\/strong>. As it\u2019s a family event, both adults and children can take part choosing to run or walk, if they prefer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make the run more enjoyable this year, some local restaurants and hotels \u2013 Palladium, Trocadero, Estival Torrequebrada and Sunset Beach Club<\/strong> \u2013 will take part in the event as participants run past their establishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price for a number to take part in the Half Marathon is \u20ac17 per adult and for the 5km and 10km Coast Run it\u2019s \u20ac12 for adults and \u20ac6 for children<\/strong>. If you\u2019re not planning on taking part you can also contribute supporting this worthy cause by paying for a number \u20180\u2019 and donating the participation fee. The above prices also include a runner\u2019s bag filled with items for each participant. There will also be trophies for the top 3 finishers in each category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
