Weddings FAQ

  • What ceremony options are there on mainland Spain?
At Sunset Beach Club, we offer distinguished wedding services designed to meet your specific needs: • Catholic Church Weddings - These ceremonies are internationally recognized and legally binding. We collaborate with three local parishes where the service is conducted in English. • Symbolic Blessings - Held in a stunning seafront blessing area just a few steps from the hotel, these ceremonies provide a beautiful and heartfelt celebration of love. Please note that legal formalities must be completed in your home country prior to arrival in Spain.
  • What assistance is there for getting married in Spain?
Planning a wedding abroad can be daunting, but at Sunset Beach Club, we ensure a seamless and stress-free experience. Our dedicated in-house wedding coordinator and our recommended professional freelance wedding planners provide expert guidance at every stage of the process—from initial planning to the wedding day itself. With our comprehensive support, you can feel confident that every detail will be handled with precision, allowing you to enjoy a truly unforgettable celebration.
  • Does the amount of guests attending my wedding matter?
At Sunset Beach Club, our wedding season runs year-round, and minimum guest requirements change with the season. In April, May, July, August and October, a minimum of 40 adults is required. In June and September the minimum is increased to 50 adults, reflecting peak season demand. During the quieter Winter months (November to March), we specialize in hosting “intimate wedding celebrations”, accommodating smaller groups of 20 to 40 guests in an elegant and relaxed setting.
  • Will it be uncomfortably hot?
For your comfort we do not recommend weddings during the months of July & August due to the intense heat on the boulevard, although the banqueting hall is fully air conditioned. Cooler, milder months include October & April, with May; June & September being pleasantly warm. For further information on weather patterns, please visit the Weather page, which you will find under Quick Links section in the website footer.
  • What time is the ceremony?
A wedding in Spain offers a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, allowing couples and their guests to start the day with a leisurely breakfast while children make the most of the pool. To ensure comfort and avoid the hottest part of the day, boulevard ceremonies are scheduled at 17:00hrs, providing the perfect setting for an unforgettable celebration that continues until 02:00hrs. For Catholic Church weddings, ceremony times vary depending on the parish, typically taking place between 16:00 and 17:00hrs.
  • Do many guests attend destination weddings?
The average wedding at Sunset Beach Club hosts approximately 70 - 90 guests. While destination weddings often experience a degree of guest fallout due to other commitments, this naturally ensures that your closest family and dearest friends are present to share in your special day. Beyond the celebration, your wedding also becomes a memorable holiday experience, allowing loved ones to enjoy quality time together in a beautiful setting.
