Andalusian White Villages
Spain has lots of beautifully traditional white villages. Here in Andalucia, one of the most popular has to be Mijas, situated in the hills behind Fuengirola and just 20 minutes from Sunset Beach Club.
However, there are many more White Villages worth visiting during your holiday and within easy driving distance. They are great places to spend the day relaxing and enjoying the traditional Spanish lifestyle and culture. Here are a few of our favourites:
Frigiliana
Frigiliana is located seven kilometres inland from Nerja and has been voted “The Prettiest Village in Andalucia” by The Spanish Tourism Authority. The traditional, whitewashed village offers small plazas hidden between narrow, cobbled streets.
Ojén
Located inland from Marbella, Ojén is a slightly larger and busier town than most white villages. The old part of the town stretches along the mountainside and here you can once again enjoy the winding streets and small tapas bars.
Benagalbón
Hidden from the coast by the resort of Rincon de la Victoria, Benagálbon is a beautiful and unspoilt village just twenty minutes west of Málaga.
