There’s nothing quite like a good Christmas Market to get into the festive spirit and we’re happy to report that there are quite a few locations for you to choose from this year. Christmas is just around the corner and Benalmadena is getting ready for a festive season full of activities for all the family. The fun starts this coming weekend (8th December) with the fabulous Festival of Christmas Traditions.
Located in the Plaza dela Mezquitathe Festival starts at 12 noon and goes on until 8 pm. You’ll find stalls representing 16 countries and offering typical Christmas products, entertainment and lots more surprises! (more…)

The stage of the famous Cervantes Theatre in Málaga will be transformed into an ice skating rink in December as it welcomes a spectacular and unique show: The Nutcracker on Ice.
The show is produced and performed by the award-winning Imperial Ice Stars under the artistic direction of Tony Mercer, one of the world’s leading creators of contemporary theatre on ice. Inspired by A.Dumas’ adaptation of E.T.A Hoffman’s famous story ‘The Nutcracker and the King of Mice’ and featuring the enchanting music of Tchaikovsky, the show is sure to be a big hit! (more…)

Benalmadena ‘Healthy Living’ Walking Routes
If you enjoy a good and healthy walk when you visit Benalmadena on holiday, we’ve got some great little walking routes which you must try; no need to worry about your fitness levels as there is something for everyone!
Benalmadena is actually a member of the Spanish Healthy Cities Network (Red Española de Ciudades Saludables) and a couple of years ago the town hall decided to set up a 23 km walking route connecting the 3 main areas of the town, Benalmadena Costa, Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Pueblo (town). The thinner knotted churros found 'up north'
Have you ever tried ‘Churros’? No idea what we’re talking about? Stick around as we’re about to tell everything you need to know about this delicious Spanish treat!
A ‘Churro’ – sometimes referred to as a Spanish doughnut – is a popular fried dough snack which is normally eaten for breakfast accompanied by a bowl of thick hot chocolate or a good café con leche. The ingredients for the typical churro couldn’t be simpler: A mixture of flour, water and salt. Once the mixture is prepared it goes into a ‘churrera’ (special churro making machine) which then squeezes the doughy mixture into a large fryer where it’ll remain until crispy and crunchy – this usually takes about 30 seconds! Fuengirola 'City Tour' Tourist Train
For just over a month now, our neighbouring town, Fuengirola, has been enjoying a new attraction: The ‘City tour’ Tourist Train.
This new tourist train service will allow visitors to easily make their way around the town’s most emblematic tourist attractions and landmarks including the Roman Ruins, the main sea front promenade, the fabulous beaches and Bioparc (Our favourite :-)). One of the highlights of this new service is its’ ‘hop-on hop-off’ system which allows the user to jump on and off as often as they like throughout the day. (more…)
