41 Recommended Restaurants in Benalmadena

It’s just over 5 years since we first asked our Sunset Beach Club Facebook fans what restaurants they could recommend in Benalmadena. We wrote a blog post with their answers which over the years has been viewed by thousands of people; however, we felt it needed updating…

So a couple of weeks ago we asked our fans the same question and we’ve included their answers in the blog post below. As you can see, we had a great response.  We hope it’ll serve as a great guide for anyone thinking of staying at Sunset Beach Club – or any other Benalmadena hotel – in the future.

The first 12 restaurants are listed in order of popularity (number of people who recommended them).The rest of the restaurants on the list (13 to 41) were recommended at least once.

Here goes… our list of 41 recommended restaurants in Benalmádena (and nearby areas):

Luna Beach Club – Our very own Beach Club just a couple of minutes-walk from the hotel (towards Fuengirola) “Fantastic food, great cocktails, amazing views and friendly staff” is how Sharon describes it.Angus Torrequebrada – Another favourite amongst our guests, this Argentinian steak house is just next door to Sunset Beach Club. A great choice for meat lovers!

Metro (in the Marina) – Italian restaurant with lovely ambience and great views of the Marina. Great choice if you have kids.

Bar 76 – Just down the road from the Windmill roundabout, the serve fabulous food with generous portions at great prices and they have happy hour all afternoon!

Oasis Restaurant & Terrace – Located here at Sunset Beach Club, you’ve got a great choice of international and Mediterranean dishes to choose from. “Great steak and lovely pizza” is what one of our fans said about the food at the Oasis.

Los Remos Lazaro – Located just below Sunset Beach Club, this fantastic restaurant offers a wide range of dishes including fresh fish and other typically Spanish delights.

Gastrobar Lo Nuestro – “Superb tapas and fantastically priced just a little off the beaten track in Benalmadena” Denise Yates

Amigos Grill – Mexican and Indian Restaurant just across the road from Sunset Beach Club. A great choice if you enjoy spicy food 😊

La Cala – Just along the promenade from the hotel, La Cala restaurant is a great choice if you like fresh fish.

La Fuente – A very popular restaurant in Benalmadena Pueblo. Looking onto the Plaza de España with its fountain and bronze sculpture, this is fine dining at very reasonable prices. The food is fantastic and so is the service.

Sabatini – Great Italian restaurant Just down from McDonald’s and about a 5-minute walk from SBC. Great with kids.

The Carvery – Whilst not strictly in Benalmádena, it’s close enough. This popular restaurant is located in the Montemar area and known for its good quality fresh food and excellent service. They also do a mean roast lunch!

The rest of the restaurants on the list were recommended at least once.

Santa Ana – On the beach with the same name and just 15 minutes walk from Sunset

La Ruta del Ibérico (near Sunset Beach Club) Great for traditional Spanish dishes like ‘Huevos Rotos’ ( a type of scrambled eggs) with Iberian ham and prawns. 

Amici – 2 minutes walk from the hotel serving Italian food. Apparently, they have fab pizza for kids and the prices are reasonable. And as Sarah quite rightly points out, you can stroll down to Salitos for a cocktail afterwards!

La Perla – Located in Benalmádena Pueblo, La Perla offers fine dining in an amazing setting up in the pueblo.

La Cupula Lounge – Located in Benalmadena Pueblo, its large terrace offers stunning views of the coast. Trendy food and cocktails for a fun evening!

The Last Resort – Just down the road from Sunset Beach Club (near McDonald’s) this restaurant serves large portions of English food and great puddings!

Toro – This is one of the most popular restaurants in the Marina. Specialising in meats, you can even cook your own steak on a hot stone at the table.

El Naranjo (The Orange Tree) – Just up from the Windmill Roundabout (about 20 minutes walk from Sunset Beach Club), they serve great-value food.

Waykiki – Just a few minutes walk from the hotel, this friendly Bar serving good food at very reasonable prices. Our guest Aoife says she has 4 pizzas, 2 pints of beer, 2 7ups and 2 ice creams for just €23!!!

Longhorn del Sol Steakhouse – Located in Benalmadena Pueblo, the name says it all! Great steaks and meat dishes.

Cinnamon Club – This excellent Indian restaurant is in the Marina. Although only one of our guests recommended it, it’s actually got the nº1 spot on Tripadvisor for restaurants in Benalmadena, so must be good!

La Perla Cordobesa – Located on Santa Ana Beach, Claire says “They do the best fresh sea bass ever!” Great for sea food and typical Spanish dishes

Gaucho Steakhouse – Another very popular steak house in the Marina.

Casa Gaspar – A traditional Spanish ‘Bodega’ in Arroyo de la Miel. Tapas and wine anyone?

Gringo’s – A Tex-Mex restaurant in the Marina. Great meat dishes and sharing platters.

La Sirena – This restaurant is just down the road from Sunset Beach Club on Santa Ana Beach. According to Jamie, it has great views and “the food is fresh and delicious and a great variety and the service is second to none”.

Pizzeria La Parolaccia – A popular pizza and Italian restaurant in the Marina.

Pinocho – Another busy and popular pizza restaurant in the Marina offering excellent service and delicious food.

La Taberna – Located next to Santa Ana Beach, this restaurant offers great Mediterranean food at affordable prices. The set menu of the day is a good choice for a great-value meal!

Hong Kong Aberdeen – Great-value Chinese restaurant in Avenida Las Palmeras, 5 minutes walk from Sunset Beach Club.

Wok in the Marina – Asian food buffet with great selection of fresh dishes for one set price. Good choice if you’re hungry! 🙂 

Lime & Lemon – This has to be one of the up and coming bars and restaurants in Benalmadena. We’ve heard rave reviews about their tapas menu and they are nº2 in Tripadvisor for restaurants in Benalmadena so must be good!

Pasta Fresca – Located just next to McDonald’s, Leona recommends their prawn pil-pil!

The Drunken Sailor – Popular restaurant on the promenade between Sunset Beach Club and the Marina which serves an amazing Sunday Roast Lunch.

The Kenmore Grill – Serving good steaks and generous helpings.

Casa Emilio – Typically Spanish restaurant next to the train station in Arroyo de la Miel.

Randall’s Bar & Grill – Tasty burgers, wings, ribs and more!

Friends – Located in Avenida Las Palmeras (just 5 minutes from Sunset Beach Club) you’ll find great pub grub with large servings.

Harry Restro – Indian restaurant also in Avenida Las Palmeras. Janet says you can get a starter, main course and ice cream for just €9.99!!!
