New Bus Service from Malaga Airport to Benalmádena

Bus from Benalmadena to Malaga Airport

IMPORTANT UPDATE (October 2014): The bus service from Malaga Airport to Benalmadena has been cancelled indefinitely.

UPDATE: From the 1st May 2013 the airport bus route will be extended and will reach the Holiday World Hotel Complex. Timetables are still not available but we will put them up as soon as they are.

We’ve got some great news for all those of you who travel to Benalmádena regularly but don’t particularly like to fork out €27 (each way) for a taxi from the airport to your hotel of choice (hopefully Sunset Beach Club ;-)). We started using www.taxiwizard.com.au it helps us save a ton of money.

The local bus company (Avanza Portillo) has just started an all new service (nºM128) which will run daily between Benalmádena Costa and Malaga airport. If you’re staying at Sunset Beach Club, the bus stops right outside the hotel – well… almost – so it’s really handy and will allow you to save quite a bit of money.

The price per person – and journey – is just €3.55 and children under 4 years travel free of charge :-). The only disadvantage is that travel time isn’t quite as quick as in a taxi; this new bus service takes approximately 1 hour from Málaga airport to Sunset Beach Club. The bus stops off at most of the hotels between Benalmadena and MalagaAirport, including the ones in Torremolinos.

    Hi Denis,

The bus stop is just outside the Terminal 3 arrivals hall. Just look for the M128 bus which will bring you to Sunset Beach Club. Have a good trip and see you soon!

We will be arriving on 25 Jan 13 @13-25 at malaga airport, and are staying at the Sunset Beach club Benalmadena. Where do we get the public bus and the time of the bus to suit our landing time.

    Thanking you,

    Hi Barry,

Glad to hear you’ll be coming to stay with us in January. To answer your questions, you’ll find the bus stop just outside the arrivals hall at Malaga airport, you need to take bus nº M128. If your flight arrives on time and your luggage comes out quickly you should be able to make the bus that leaves at 2:15 pm, if not you’ll have to wait until 4:15 pm.

Hope that helps. Have a safe flight and look forward to welcoming you to Sunset Beach Club soon.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Tina,

As far as I know, the price is the same as for adults. It’s only children under 4 who can travel for free.

My wife and I will be arriving March 5, 2013, for 4 weeks. Glad to hear that there is a bus to get to the Sunset Club. It is a lot cheaper than the service offered by the tour operator – around $100.Cdn.

Can’t wait to see sand and sea rather than snow and cold! 🙂

  10. Justin January 31, 2013 at 9:34 am #

Yes Rick, the bus is great value for money… probably not as comfortable as the tour operator’s but you definitely get to save a lot of money 🙂 Look forward to welcoming you in March, hopefully it’ll be as sunny and warm as it is today… expecting 22ºC today.. yipeeee!

Could you please tell me if the bus stops at the Vincci Selection Aleysa in Benalmadena..Thanks.

  15. Justin July 9, 2013 at 1:55 pm #

I would think it does stop there as its on the main road which goes towards the airport; however, I’m afraid I can’t confirm this. Best thing would be to contact the Vincci directly.

    Hi Justin,

  22. Justin October 6, 2014 at 10:17 am #

Hi Philip, I’m afraid that wont be possible as the local transport company has now stopped the airport bus service, apparently there were not enough passengers and they were losing money. Sorry.

Hi me and my parnet are goin to arrive in Malaga on the 3rd of September and I was wonderin which bus to take to get to CLC Benal Beach Apts in Benelmadena?

  24. Justin March 30, 2015 at 10:01 am #

Hi, I believe the bus service from the airport has been cancelled so the best way to get to Benalmadena is by taxi or by train.

Hi, we are travelling on 1st November, staying at Sunset beach. Is the bus still running?

  26. Justin October 31, 2016 at 12:44 pm #

Hi, I’m afraid this bus service is no longer running. Your best options are to take a taxi (approx. 28€) or you can also take the train to Arroyo de la Miel.

  27. Paula Crawley December 26, 2017 at 8:03 pm #

Hi we are planning to come to apartments Calle Amatista at Arroyo de la Miel in June and would love to visit Midas on a Sunday, do any buses run from these apartments please and if so do you know the times please?
Many thanks for all your help

  28. Justin January 3, 2018 at 11:08 am #

    Hi Paula,

We’re sorry but we don’t have that information. Maybe you can contact someone at the apartments you are staying at?
