Visit Lobo Park and Learn the Truth About Wolves

Lobo Park (Wolf Park) is located in the true heart of Andalucía (see map below) and is the only wild like park of its kind.

Founded by Daniel Weigend and Alexandra Stieber as a private initiative in 2002, Lobo Park soon opened its doors to the general public in 2004 and has since welcomed thousands of visitors. The founders idea was to provide a natural habitat which would protect the existent wildlife and allow the wolves – and other animals – to live without interference from humans or domestication.  (more…)

Guided Tours of the Picasso Museum in Málaga

Picasso Museum in Malaga

Did you know that the Picasso Museum in Malaga offers guided tours to all visitors?

In actual fact, it’s one of the main attractions of this wonderful museum. Guided tours of the museum – for adults and families – are actually included in the price of admission; however, you do have to sign up for the service at the ticket office 30 minutes before the visit. Keep in mind that numbers are limited to a maximum of 20 people and minimum of 5.

At the moment, the Picasso Museum offers two types of visit to the individual public; here’s a quick summary of these visits:

1)      Getting to Know the Collection: A guided visit, highlighting selected works from the collection, led by a Picasso Museum educator. These visits are available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at the following times:

Tuesday: at 6:00pm and 7:00pm

Wednesday: at 11:30am (in English)

Saturday: at 1:00pm, 6:00pm and 7:00pm

2)      Gallery Talks: The tours led by Picasso Museum educators focus on selected works from the temporary exhibitions or on specific themes. From Thursday 28 February, the museum is offering a tour focused on the exhibition Picasso of Malaga. Earliest Works. Available on Thursday’s at 6pm (Please note this is in Spanish.)

One of the activities we tend to recommend to guests who stay with us is a guided tour of Benalmadena on the sightseeing tourist bus. This is undoubtedly the best way to see all the great attractions Benalmadena has to offer its visitors.

Last week the local council announced that it had introduced a new route to the tourist bus, one that includes a visit to Benalmadena Town (the one up in the mountains) and all its cultural treats. This new itinerary includes the impressive Buddhist Temple, the Butterfly Park, the ‘Felipe Orlando’ Pre-columbine museum and the uniqueness of a typical andalusian village with its white buildings and narrow cobbled streets. Benalmadena Bird Park

Have you ever seen a park filled with birds and other animal? Well on the Costa del Sol located in the heart of Benalmadena, Paloma Park offers a relaxing day out for all the family, complete with cafes and picnic areas. There is a lake in the centre of the park with a large water feature giving the area a fresh atmosphere. Also don’t be surprised if during your visit you bump into the odd chicken, rabbit or even turtle!
