Last month we wrote about the fabulous new series of concerts taking place in Mijas village and featuring some of the world’s best cover bands and singers.
After the success of the first two concerts, a night of swing and jazz with the Andy Peacock Big Band and the Bruce Springsteen Tribute Concert, the ‘Hot Summer Nights’ series of concerts is back at the start of August with three amazing nights of live music. Here’s the programme and some info about each of the concerts (more check at Austin Texas events):
Thusday 6th August – ‘One Wild Night with Bon Giovi – Premier Bon Jovi Tribute’
With sell out tours of Russia, India, Scandinavia and the UK, Bon Giovi, are going to be rockin’ Mijas for ‘One Wild Night’! Regarded as ‘The World’s Premier Tribute to Bon Jovi’, Bon Giovi have received acclaim from music critics and Bon Jovi fans from all over the world.
Playing all the New Jersey band’s greatest hits, it’s a must-see for diehard Bon Jovi fans.
Friday 7th August – ‘Desperados’ – A night of the best songs of The Eagles
Formed from two of the Costa del Sol’s most respected bands, Shackattack and Monkey Tennis, ‘Desperados’ play the very best songs of legendary California band, The Eagles.
Fans will be treated to a 2 hour concert supplemented by classic video clips on a giant screen. In addition, the support band for this concert are ‘Stereo 80’ who play covers of 80’s rock classics including: Queen, Eurythmics, AC/DC, Guns n’ Roses, Dire Straits and more!
Saturday 8th August – Classic Rock Night
The name of the event says it all… it’s a night for Rock Music lovers. Featuring three live bands playing the loudest and most powerful rock, fans of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s rock music will be treated to a four hour show!
Here’s a quick look at the bands that will be playing:
- Pink Floyd – Steve Nelson and Andy Claridge return to the Mijas Auditorium for a tribute to one of the most iconic and innovative rock bands of all time. They sold our last year so if you’re a Pink Floyd fan, we recommend you grab your tickets fast!
- Deeper Purple – For over 10 years, this Deep Purple tribute band has built up a loyal following, garnering praise or original Deep Purple bassist Nic Simper along the way! Their set consists of all the original band’s classics coupled with a top-class reproduction of the Deep Purple live sound… a true rock experience!
- Stereo 80 – One of the most respected local bands on the Costa del Sol, Stereo 80 will be playing a superb selection of tunes from bands like AC/DC, Guns n’ Roses, Van Halen, Queen, Kiss and lots more.
Important information about the ‘Hot Summer Nights’ Concerts
- All concerts have numbered seating areas. You can view a seating plan online here
- All concerts take place at the ‘Auditorio de Mijas’.
- Doors open at 8:30pm and all concerts start at 9:30pm.
- Mijas has strict parking regulations for non-residents so if you’re driving, it’s best to park in the main multi-story car park next to the town hall (€1 for the whole day).
- There will be two bars, and American style Hog Roast & BBQ and Mojitos!
