Valderrama Andalucia Masters 2011From the 27th to the 30th October 2011, the Costa del Sol will once again become the mecca of European Golf as the Andalucia Masters travels to the world famous Valderrama Golf Club in Sotogrande.

Defending champion, Graeme McDowell is back to defend the title he won last year and will be up against some tough opposition as this years line up includes some of the top players on the European Tour: Darren Clarke, Martin Kaymer, Justin Rose, the Molinari Brothers and local favourites Miguel Angel Jiménez and Sergio García will all take to the course on Thursday 27th October2011 in an attempt to win part of the hefty 3 million prize pot!

A visit to the Andalucía Masters in Valderrama makes for a great day out. There are places for visitors to eat and drink as well as a giant TV screen from which to watch the live action; no need to don those walking shows if you don’t want to! Those of you who are keen to see the latest golfing equipment can also head over to the trailer park where all the big golfing brands such as Ping, Callaway and Nike will be showing off the latest equipment and clothing.

A few interesting facts… 

  • Television coverage for the event will reach 450 million people worldwide.
  • Organisers expect 30.000 visitors over the 4 days of the tournament.
  • The course record of 62 shots is held by German legend, Bernhard Langer.
  • Valderrama is populated by over 2000 cork trees, 500 olive trees and 3000 Halipi pine trees.
  • Darren Clarke once took an 11 on the dreaded 17th hole!

Important Information for Spectators 

  • Public parking will be in “La Reserva” (exit 130/131 from the A7 road) with a free bus service for spectators.
  • Doors open at 8:15am every day. Play starts at 9:00am and ends at 7:00pm on Thursday and Friday and at 5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Tickets to the event can be purchased online at www.andaluciamasters.es or at the entrance to Valderrama Golf Club on the day.
  • Prices start at €13 for a daily pass and €61 for a full 4 day pass.
  • Children under 14 years of age can enter for free when accompanied by an adult.
