Next Sunday the 6th of April, Benalmadena will host the 40th edition of its popular ‘Fiesta de la Bicicleta’ or Bicycle Party, one of the city’s oldest and most emblematic events in its busy sports calendar. This year the event returns stronger than ever with a fun-packed morning of cycling for all who choose to participate.
It’s not a race. The whole event is designed to be a fun family day out, fitting in perfectly with Benalmadena’s image as an idyllic destination for tourism and sports.
This unique tradition started almost 40 years ago to encourage the use of bicycles as a healthy habit and an alternative form of transport. Many years later, there’s still a lot of work to do in this aspect, and the town hall remains committed to promoting the use of more eco-friendly and non-contaminating transport to help stop climate change. It’s Carnival time in Benalmadena!
This traditional festivity of colourful fun, singing and dancing which starts on the 10th February 2025, and goes on until Sunday 23rd February 2025, offers local residents and visitors a full events programme with activities and entertainment to suit all ages.
