According to Einstein, “If a bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four more years of live left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”
Whilst this statement may not be entirely true, studies show that millions of human beings would not survive and thousands of plant species would die out without them; there is no doubt that these fascinating creatures play a vital role in nature.

From the 11th to the 13th April, Benalmadena’s Marina will host the first edition of the Costa del Sol Olive Oil Fair, an event which the organisers are hoping, will become one of the industry’s most important (in Spain).
This is the first time the event is held in the Malaga province and has the objective of highlighting the latest tendencies, technological innovations, processes, as well as elaboration and extraction of one of Andalucia’s most treasured natural resources: Olive oil. (more…)

Here in Benalmadena, we are fortunate to enjoy one of the most spectacular public parks in Andalucia: Paloma Park. Its’ total surface area of 100.000 square metres makes it the ideal spot to enjoy many outdoor activities and observe the diverse wildlife and flora.
Within its grounds there is an area that houses one of best open-air collections of Cacti and other Succulent plants in all of Europe. This impressive 6000 square metre exhibit is open all year round for visitors to enjoy its stunning and varied collection. (more…)

Bioparc Zoo in Fuengirola is one of our favourite family attractions on the Costa del Sol and, as of last Friday, it’s going to be even better! Why? Because they have opened the spectacular new habitat designed to emulate the Indo-Pacific region.
This new exhibit will take visitors on a voyage from Asia to the Americas via the islands of the South Pacific. Featuring species from Java, Borneo, Bali, the Philippines, New Guinea and the Galapagos Islands, perhaps the most impressive new inhabitant of the Park is the Komodo Dragon – the largest one in the world! This weekend Sunset Beach Club welcomes over 100 dancers for the first edition of Costa del Jive, a week long event for fans of modern jive.
The fun starts this Sunday the 30th March with welcome drinks and canapés in the hotel’s Sala Malaga followed by a night of dancing in the Moonlight Theatre from 9:00pm to 2:00am!
There’s plenty planned for the week with participants able to enjoy daily dance classes (see below), daily activities by the pool (with a little fun thrown in!), a fancy dress fun night or just relax by the pool and soak up the spring sunshine – with a nice glass of sangria, of course! (more…)
