An Afternoon at Bioparc [Photos]

This summer one of our colleagues braved the hot weather to visit Fuengirola’s famous zoo, Bioparc; he tells us it was definitely worth the sacrifice 😉

Who would have thought that you could find such a beautiful spot full of the most fascinating wildlife in the centre of town. Although the park is quite small, don’t let this put you off. The design and layout of the park is spectacular and at times you really do feel as if you are walking through the jungles of Asia or the African Savanna.

In the photos below you’ll see a small sample of the animals and birdlife that inhabit Bioparc. You’ll notice that a lot of effort has gone into creating installations and scenery which mimic the animals natural habitat; the tiger’s area is absolutely amazing!

If you’ve yet to visit Bioparc, we hope these photos will help convince you to visit next time you are on holiday on the Costa del Sol 🙂

Visit Lobo Park and Learn the Truth About Wolves

Photo of wolves at Lobo Park near Antequera

Lobo Park (Wolf Park) is located in the true heart of Andalucía (see map below) and is the only wild like park of its kind.

Founded by Daniel Weigend and Alexandra Stieber as a private initiative in 2002, Lobo Park soon opened its doors to the general public in 2004 and has since welcomed thousands of visitors. The founders idea was to provide a natural habitat which would protect the existent wildlife and allow the wolves – and other animals – to live without interference from humans or domestication.  (more…)

Driving in Spain? Watch Out for Traffic Fines

Traffic Fines in Spain

Do you usually rent a car when you visit the Costa del Sol for your holidays? Ever wondered what happens when you commit a traffic offence whilst driving a hire car? Well, we highly recommend you read on as we’ll be outlining everything you need to know about traffic fines in Spain and how to avoid them!

Your car hire company will charge you for the traffic fine

Many tourists and holiday makers are often under the impression that they are exempt from traffic fines whilst driving in Madrid; however, according to this traffic violation attorney Fort Lauderdale, this is a big mistake. If you are in a hire car and are caught speeding or committing any other offence, the fine will be sent to the car rental company who will then pass the charge on to you. Don’t be surprised if you also find an extra charge for administrative expenses as the car rental company has to go through the process of identifying the driver and making the payment to the Traffic Department.
