For the 16th year, our friends at Goldsoul – well-established UK Soul event promoters – are coming back for a fun week of the best tunes, lots of dancing and, of course, sunshine!!!
This year’s ‘Costa del Soul’ event promises to be the best yet. It runs from Friday 4th October to Friday 11th October and featuring some of the top DJ’s from the UK playing the most fantastic Soul Music Tunes throughout the day.
Soul music lovers can enjoy their daily dose of Classic Soul tunes by the hotel’s poolside Kanaloa terrace whilst enjoying a cool jug of Sangria and working on their tans!
After a hard day by the pool, the fun continues in the Panorama Bar with some laid-back soul from 6 to 9 pm. This includes the ever-popular happy hour and the chance to catch up and watch the latest live Premiership or Champions League football matches.
Next Friday 27th September 2024 is World Tourism Day and to celebrate this special occasion, Malaga Town Hall, in conjunction with the city’s main museums and monuments, has prepared a special events programme.
This initiative – promoted by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) – aims to raise awareness of the important impact tourism has on countries and communities around the world; socially, culturally, politically and economically. This year’s event goes under the following slogan: Tourism and Peace.
Sunset Beach Club is proud to have been selected, once again, as the official hotel partner for the Dream 11European Cricket Championship (ECC) which takes place at the Cartama Oval from the 23rd September to the 19th October 2024.
This year sees a change of format with the tournament being split into 2 divisions: the Challenger Division and the Premier Division.
The Challenger Division group stage is the first up with 11 teams playing matches from 23rd to 29th September. The winners of this group stage will head to the playoffs which will take place from 30th September to 2nd October.
From the 3rd October to the 14th October fans can enjoy the Premier Division group stage where 20 teams (see image below) will be split into 4 groups.
The winners of each group and the current champions of the ECC23 (England XI) will go head to head in the Premier Division Finals week from the 15th to the 19th October.
The winners and runners-up of the ECC24 Challenger Division will be promoted to the ECC25 Premier Division and the bottom two teams of the ECC24 Premier Division will be relegated for next year’s event.
The T-10 shortened format of these matches – they last 90 minutes – means that cricket fans can enjoy several matches each day.
On the 6th and 7th September – the picturesque white village of Guaro celebrates the 26th edition of its famous ‘Luna Mora’ Festival.
As has been the case since before the pandemic, festivities have been reduced to two days (It’s used to be four). However, they’ve still managed to put together an impressive programme of events with activities and entertainment for all the family.
Throughout the weekend, the village becomes a meeting point for traditional Andalusí music and culture. The streets come alive in the evenings with the stunning illumination of 20,000 candles strategically positioned to create a unique and magical ambience. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the traditional Arab artisan market, workshops (Henna and belly dancing), street performers, storytelling and mouth-watering gastronomy.
From Thursday 29th August to Sunday 1st September 2024, Benalmádena Pueblo (the old town) will host the latest edition of its Arabian Market (Zoco), an event which once again returns to the town’s summer cultural programme.
The Arabian Market will be larger this year, running from Calle Real to Plaza del Aguacil. Aimed to promote the town’s beauty and charm, the town hall hopes this unique event will once again attract tourists from all over the Coast.
Visiting Benalmadena during the busy summer months – July & August – can be stressful. Too many people, too much traffic, too many queues, it’s too hot… stress!
However, if you’re willing to hold off on your holiday plans until September, the panorama changes… drastically!
September is probably one of the best times of year to visit Benalmadena. Although it’s still busy, kids are back at school and Spanish travellers (who usually holiday in August) are back at work. You’ll also find that flights and accommodation are considerably cheaper and the weather is still fantastic; lots of sunshine but not as stiflingly hot as July and August.
If you’re a fan of food trucks and street food then you’re going to love the Festival taking place in Pueblosol (Arroyo de la Miel) from the 2nd to the 4th August.
Torremolinos’ famous ‘Parque de la Batería’ will host a fantastic live music event this summer: The Summer Jazz Festival 2024.

During July and August, you can enjoy four free concerts featuring artists from Germany, England, Cuba and Spain.
The event organiser, Javier Salinas from the Clarence Jazz Club, stated that
“The concerts seek the diversity of genres within jazz itself with an international focus”.
Salinas also added that this year’s festival will also feature short performances from locally-based violinist Konstantin Merezhnikov, as well as a diverse gastronomic offering with a selection of food trucks.
Dates and times for all the concerts:
Monday 8th July
The Ralph Moore Quintet will take to the stage with a more contemporary jazz style. Moore recorded and toured in the 80s and early 90s with some of the genre’s greatest artists.
Monday 22nd July
Pedro Pablo & Three Cuban Jazz Feat Andiley Mojena. A Cuban musician with a long and impressive musical career whose objective is to share an experience of a performance in which the real protagonist is the true sound of Cuban Jazz from the golden years of the 30s, 40s and 50s.
Monday 5th August
German band ‘The Sazerac Swingers’ take to the stage and will take us back to the 20’s, the era when jazz music started to take over dance clubs all over the world.
Monday 19th August
Spanish group ‘Swing For Five’ will take us through the soundtrack of the 20th century, offering tunes that form part of the basic jazz repertoire because they were written for cinema or because the musicians transformed it into jazz. Some of the tracks they will play belong to classics like Pinocchio or the Wizard of Oz.
If you’re planning on visiting the Torremolinos Jazz Festival over the summer and are looking for accommodation, Sunset Beach Club hotel is just a few minutes drive from Parque de la Bateria. You can check availability and prices here www.sunsetbeachclub.com.
