The Women’s European Cricket Championship: 12 days of Exhilirating Cricket

As the official hotel partner of the European Cricket Network, we’re delighted to welcome them back for the second edition of the successful Women’s European Cricket Championship which will be held at the Cartama Oval from the 9th to the 20th December 2024.

This exciting tournament will follow in its men’s counterpart’s footsteps and be divided into two divisions; the Challenger and Premier. As we experienced with the men’s Championship held in October, this new format will ensure competitive balance and allow all participating teams to show off their skills at the Cartama Oval.

Another unique feature this year is that we’ll have two champions crowned, one for each division.

The teams taking part this year are as follows:

Challenger DivisionPremier Division
SpainEngland XI
AustriaIreland XI
GermanyScotland XI
JerseyNetherlands XI
CzechiaItaly

From the 9th to 15th December we’ll see the Challenger division teams take to the field and we’re hoping to see a repeat of the great cricket experienced last year!

From the 15th to the 20th December Europe’s top cricketing nations take centre stage with the England XI looking to retain their ‘Champions’ status. We’re sure last year’s runners-up, Netherlands XI will have something to say about that!

We look forward to welcoming all the teams to Sunset Beach Club next week and can’t wait to sit back and enjoy some world-class women’s cricket over the next couple of weeks!

Anyone looking to stay at Sunset Beach Club during the tournament can check availability and prices online through our website www.sunsetbeachclub.com.

We’ve had to change the name of some of our apartment types: Here’s why

As of Tuesday 3rd December 2024, some apartment types at Sunset Beach Club will have new names.

Why? We hear you ask… Well, it’s all to do with new tourism legislation.

This new legislation requires us to change the name of some of our room types, particularly our ‘1 bedroom apartments’ now called ‘Studio-apartments’. The chart below shows you a full list of all our apartment types with the old and new names.

We want to reassure you that these are just name changes and there is NO change to room layouts of descriptions.

So if you arrive on holiday at Sunset Beach Club and see that the name of the apartment type you have been assigned doesn’t coincide with what you have on your reservation confirmation, don’t panic! You haven’t been given a different apartment, it’s just got a new name.

If you have any questions or queries about this ‘Name change’, our staff are available to help you. You can call or email our reservations team or send a Live Chat message through our website (www.sunsetbeachclub.com).
