From the 11th to the 13th April, Benalmadena’s Marina will host the first edition of the Costa del Sol Olive Oil Fair, an event which the organisers are hoping, will become one of the industry’s most important (in Spain).
This is the first time the event is held in the Malaga province and has the objective of highlighting the latest tendencies, technological innovations, processes, as well as elaboration and extraction of one of Andalucia’s most treasured natural resources: Olive oil. (more…)

According to the Spanish Secretary of State for Security, less than one out of every thousand tourists who visit Spain are victims of crime; a low figure which contributes to Spain’s popularity as a safe and popular holiday destination.
That being said, this low crime doesn’t console the unlucky few who do fall victim to petty thieves who take advantage of occasional lapses.
These unfortunate incidences usually mean having to go to the police and file a report, phone banks to cancel credit cards and contact local consulates or embassies to report stolen passports. This could mean hours spent at the local police station without a qualified translator and valuable holiday time wasted. (more…)

Trips from Benalmadena to Fuengirola included in the “Relax Tour” package
Benalmadena has always been known as a sun and sea destination, attracting visitors from all over Europe in the warmer high season months.
During the quieter winter period, demand and interest for the resort suffers an important drop. The winter months – although offering the warmest and sunniest weather in continental Europe – do not provide the ideal conditions for your typical beach holiday.
That being said, Benalmadena does provide fantastic activities and attractions for visitors looking to enjoy Spanish culture and explore the wonders of our beautiful coastline. The sun still shines and, whilst you may not be able to swim in the sea, day time temperatures in the 18ºC to 22ºC range make for enjoyable and relaxing breaks. (more…)

This Sunday night sees the arrival of the Three Kings, Gaspar, Melchor and Balthazar. Excitement is the operative word as kids (and some adults) eagerly await the arrival of the Three Kings of Orient bearing gifts for all those who have been good over the past year 🙂
The fun begins a little earlier though, as the Three Wise Men delight crowds in the traditional parades which take place in all the major cities, towns and villages on the afternoon of the 5th January.
Families will be lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the gift-bearing Kings sitting comfortably in their spectacular carriages which slowly make their way through the carefully planned routes. Make sure you take a plastic bag to collect all the sweets which will be thrown in to the crowds from the carriages! (more…)
