Our on-site entertainment team have been working hard for weeks preparing their new show; A tribute to Grease. Last week was the premiere and from what we’ve heard the Rocio and her team have done a great job; the show was packed! If you missed the show last week, don’t panic; the show will be on every Friday evening over the summer at our Moonlight Bar here at Sunset Beach Club. Join Danny, Sandy and the rest of the T-Birds and Pink Ladies for an evening of great music and dancing! The show starts at 10:30 pm and entrance is free. Just make sure you get there early so you get a good seat!
One hundred and sixteen minutes; that’s what it took the Spanish team break the solid Dutch defence last night! It wasn’t the most beautiful of football matches but it was definitely intense. The boys in red made us suffer – a little too long for my liking – but Iniesta’s goal 4 minutes away from the dreaded penalty shootout means that Spain win the world cup for the first time in history and complete a well deserved double after winning the European Championship 2 years ago.
The whole of Spain was rocking last night after the final whistle. All you could hear were the screams of jubilant fans, fireworks, car horns and even some attempts and blowing the, now world famous, vuvuzela’s! As we have been doing throughout the whole competition, we showed the game on the 3 metre screen at the Moonlight Bar; hundreds of guests gathered to watch the game and you can image what the atmosphere was like! May is always a very busy month here at the hotel as the weather is perfect not just for family holidays but also for first comunions and weddings, lots of warm days with plenty of sunshine, but not too hot to bare in a suit and tie! We had two first comunions celebrated here last Saturday, one small group enjoyed a gala lunch in our seventh floor banquet room, whilst Clara’s comunion was held in the Moonlight Bar, with over 100 guests attending! Here we have a video taken of the room before the guests arrived, beautifully decorated with colourful balloons and chair ribbons as well as personalised table plans and menu cards:
In it’s third year, The International Blues Festival took place last weekend at The Moonlight Cabaret Theatre in Sunset Beach Club. With great value entrance tickets, and lots of fabulous acts it is hardly surprising that there was a fantastic turn- out ! Make sure you keep an eye out for next year’s event!
Beautiful Al fresco dining at a poolside location! Last week Jim & Elaine got married in a church ceremony in Benalmadena Pueblo (The Old Village) and then celebrated with a gala dinner reception in our terrace restaurant followed by drinks and disco until 5am in our Moonlight Bar.
Last night was the opening to this year’s tribute act by our in house entertainment team, “A tribute to High School Musical!” After watching them rehearsing yesterday, it’s no surprise that the show went so well!
