The ‘Virgen del Carmen‘ celebrations take place in Benalmadena Marina from next Thursday 16th July, 2026.
The Benalmadena town hall has prepared various events which will take place on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th July, including a wonderful procession through the streets of Benalmádena Costa in which the fishermen will carry their ‘Stella Maris’ to the Marina. She’ll be lifted aboard a boat and paraded along the Benalmadena coastline (weather permitting).
If you’ve got some good binoculars, a great place to watch this is from the terrace in our Panorama Bar here at Sunset Beach Club or from the promenade just in front of the hotel. (more…)
During the months of July and August, Benalmadena town hall has once again organized a special programme called “Cultura en la Calle” (Culture in the streets), an impressive selection of free cultural shows in different locations around the municipality (Benalmadena Pueblo, Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Costa).
You’ll be able to enjoy entertainment in the following locations: Plaza Adolfo Suárez (Pueblosol), Paloma Park, Plaza de la Tribuna, Los Nadales Fairground, Malapesquera Beach and the area in front of Bil-Bil Castle (just a few minutes walk from Sunset Beach Club).
If you’re staying at Sunset Beach Club this weekend (or planning a visit soon), there’s a truly special event taking place nearby:“Mijas with Soul” (Mijas con Alma) — one of the most charming summer experiences on the Costa del Sol.
The San Juan Fair in Arroyo de la Miel is back again this year with a full programme of events which kicks off on Tuesday, 23rd June!
This year, we’ll be able to enjoy the amazing fireworks display on San Juan night (23rd June) as well as the traditional bonfires along the beaches. The popular ‘Casetas’ are back in the main fairground every night, as are all the fairground attractions and live music concerts. The day fair will also provide hours of entertainment with live music and dancing featuring local artists.
Next Tuesday the 23rd June, the beaches of Benalmádena – and many other Spanish towns and cities – will come alive to celebrate the Night of San Juan.
This not-to-be-missed date on the local festivities calendar coincides (nearly…) with the summer solstice; the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of summer!
