Are you a fan of WWE Wrestling? How about your kids? If you answered yes to either of these questions then you are in for a real treat!
On Friday 9th November 2012, WWE and its Smackdown World Tour will be visiting Malaga for an unbelievable night of wrestling entertainment. It’s not often that these stars of the WWE visit Spain let alone Malaga so this is a unique opportunity to see all tour favourite wrestling stars live and in the flesh.
This Smackdown World Tour event will feature some great bouts including:
- A Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show
- A Fan’s Choice Match featuring Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler
Apart from these epic encounters, fans will be treated to lots more entertainment with their favourite wrestlers including: Rey Mysterio, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Sin Cara, Natalya and lots more…

The event will be held at the ‘Palacio de los Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena’ at the entrance to Málaga and starts at 7:30pm on the evening of the 9th November.

From the 1st to the 18th of November 2012, Fuengirola will celebrate the 4th edition of its – now famous – and extremely popular ‘Erotic’ Tapas Route, an original and fun initiative which increases in popularity each year attracting tapas lovers from all over Spain.
This year the town hall expects the participation of 80 of the city’s bars and restaurants, all of which will compete for the coveted prize of best ‘Erotic’ Tapa. Each of these establishments will have to prepare a sensual and fun tapa which clients will be able to try during the 18 days of the event.
Last year’s tapas route saw visitors consume the impressive figure of 260.000 tapas; this year organisers hope to improve on this number. A few of us here in Sunset Beach Club’s Commercial Department will do our best to contribute to this figure as we’re planning an evening out to make our way around the Tapas Route and report on this fun event from the ‘front lines’ 🙂 (more…)

He was supposed to conduct the Malaga Filarmonic Orchestra for the ‘Placido Domingo Festival’, a lirical gala planned for the evening of the 26th October at the Teatro Cervantes in Malaga, but in actual fact Placido Domingo will be delighting the crowd with his powerful voice.
Fans of the famous tenor will want to take advantage of this unique opportunity as it will be the first time he performs in Málaga.
This fantastic evening of entertainment will also feature two of the most important stars in the world of opera: Tenor, Vittorio Grigolo and Grammy award winning soprano, Ana María Martínez. They will be accompanied on stage by legendary guitarist Ángel Romero in a programme that includes music by Rossini, Donizetti, Puccini, Catalani and Gounod. Placido Domingo has also confirmed that he will be performing ‘zarzuela’ and will conduct ‘one or two’ musical pieces during the gala.

Benalmadena Sightseeing Bus
One of the activities we tend to recommend to guests who stay with us is a guided tour of Benalmadena on the sightseeing tourist bus. This is undoubtedly the best way to see all the great attractions Benalmadena has to offer its visitors.
Last week the local council announced that it had introduced a new route to the tourist bus, one that includes a visit to Benalmadena Town (the one up in the mountains) and all its cultural treats. This new itinerary includes the impressive Buddhist Temple, the Butterfly Park, the ‘Felipe Orlando’ Pre-columbine museum and the uniqueness of a typical andalusian village with its white buildings and narrow cobbled streets. The Soul event of the year is back again! Costa del Soul will take place from the 26th October to the 3rd November at Sunset Beach Club. This is the 4th year running that Goldsoul – a well established UK soul event promoter – has chosen our hotel as a venue for their increasingly popular week long soul event.
More than 10 DJ’s from the UK will be featuring the full spectrum of Soul from the early days in the UK at famous clubs like the Twisted Wheel, Golden Torch, Blackpool Mecca, Wigan Casino through the 80’s.
Goldsoul are offering a 7 night package, excluding flights and guest will be able to enjoy a fantastic week of Classic Soul music from the 60’s, Motown, Northern Soul era through the 70’s and 80’s with the best Modern and Boogie Disco Anthems.
Daily Events
- From 2pm to 4:30pm every day, the Tikki Pool Bar is the place to be with chill out tunes, sun and sangria 🙂
- The Panorama Bar will offer a happy hour and laid back soul sessions from 6pm to 9pm; Live sports events such as Premiership and Champions League football.
- After dinner its time to dance the night away in the Moonlight Theatre, the special dance venue which will be open from 9:30pm to 2am every week night and from 9:30pm to 3:30pm on Friday and Saturday.
