This year’s Cudeca Walkathon is changing location. For the first time in many years, the event will not be held on the promenade in front of Sunset Beach Club. The organisers wanted a change and have decided that the best location is the Arroyo de la Miel Fairground next to Paloma Park, allowing for more participants, given the large available space.
This year’s event takes place of Saturday 23rd May, 2026 and will hopefully break all attendance records!
Every year, we here at Sunset Beach Club provide our unconditional support to this fantastic event aiming to raise awareness for the incredible work the Cudeca Foundation does for Cancer patients here on the Costa del Sol. The funds raised during the Walkathon also allow for the continued palliative care the Cudeca Hospice offers to more than 1400 cancer patients and their families, free of charge.
Next Sunday the 19th of April 2026, Benalmadena will host the 41st edition of its popular ‘Fiesta de la Bicicleta’ or Bicycle Party, one of the city’s oldest and most emblematic events in its busy sports calendar. This year, the event returns stronger than ever with a fun-packed morning of cycling for all who choose to participate.
It’s not a race. The whole event is designed to be a fun family day out, fitting in perfectly with Benalmadena’s image as an idyllic destination for tourism and sports.
This unique tradition started almost 41 years ago to encourage the use of bicycles as a healthy habit and an alternative form of transport. Many years later, there’s still a lot of work to do in this aspect, and the town hall remains committed to promoting the use of more eco-friendly and non-contaminating transport to help stop climate change.
The Calamorro Skyrace will be the next event of the Merrell Skyrunner World Series and will take place on Saturday 11th April, 2026.
Securing the celebration of this prestigious event in 2024 was a significant coup, which has undoubtedly helped position Benalmadena on the national and international sports map thanks to the coverage on Spain’s Teledeporte sports channel and other global media.
