Located on the promenade just a 10-minute walk from Sunset Beach Club, this Moorish-looking building isn’t really a castle. Although it looks like it was built centuries ago, nothing could be further from the truth. Benalmadena’s Beaches Receive ‘Q’ Quality Award Certification 

Q de Calidad Turistica Playas de BenalmadenaLast week the Mayor of Benalmadena, Paloma García Gálvez, was in Fitur travel fair last week to promote our beautiful municipality and to receive an important award: The ‘Q’ for Quality awarded to all the city’s urban beaches.

This highly regarded distinction has actually been visible on Benalmadena beaches since the summer; last weeks presentation just made the award official!

The beaches included in the award comprise all located on the stretch of coast which goes from Fuente de la Salud Beach all the way to the beach at Sunset Beach Club. (more…)

Sponge Bob at Sea Life park in BenalmadenaSea Life Benalmádena is the place to go over the next few weeks if your kids are fans of hit TV show SpongeBob SquarePants!

To celebrate the worldwide premier of the new SpongeBob movie: Sponge Out of Water, Sea Life Benalmádena has been chosen as the only aquarium in Spain to take part in the official launch of the film.

Between the 23rd January and the 24th February 2015, visitors to the aquarium can take part in SpongeBob’s special SpongeHunt. The staff at Sea Life have been busy redecorating the aquarium tanks with all the movie’s characters and there will be special screenings of the film’s official trailer.   (more…)

Flamenco Week in Benalmadena: From 14th to 21st November

Flamenco Week in BenalmadenaBenalmadena is getting ready to host one of the most important cultural events of its yearly calendar: Flamenco Week. Playing a key role in the promotion of the town’s Flamenco culture, the event has become one of the main tributes to this universal art in the province of Malaga. 

Flamenco Week takes place from the 14th to 21st November in various different cultural and educational centres of Benalmadena. Organised by Malaga’s ‘Peña La Repompa’ in collaboration with Benalmadena Council’s Cultural Department, the main aim of the event is to pay tribute to the art of Flamenco, coinciding with the celebration, on the 16th November, of the anniversary of Flamenco being declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.  (more…)
