IMPORTANT UPDATE (Sept 2015)…. This train service has been cancelled until further notice!
Those of you who have visited Benalmadena will be familiar with the small ‘hop on, hop off’ tourist trains which ferry passengers around the Marina and the central area of Arroyo de la Miel. Well, in the next few weeks, the company that runs these trains will be introducing a new service taking tourists and visitors to Benalmadena Pueblo, located in the hills overlooking the coast.
If you’ve never been to Benalmadena Pueblo, this is the perfect opportunity to visit this stunning and picturesque village. The new tourist train service will leaves from the Alay Hotel (approx. 30 minutes walk from Sunset Beach Club) at 9:30am every morning. (more…)
Next week sees the start of the 6th edition of Benalmadena Town’s popular Tapas Route. From the 18th to the 27th October, many of the Benalmadena’s bars and restaurants will take part in this gastronomic event which every year produces some mouth-watering creations!
The establishments which take part in the Tapas Route will have to prepare a special tapa designed only for this event. This way visitors will be able to make their way around the town following the ‘route’ and trying a different and unique tapa in each bar and restaurant; just make sure they are officially taking part in the event. They say it’s “The Coolest Place in Spain”, literally! With temperatures inside its frozen walls reaching a chilling -14ºC Boal’s Ice Bar in Benalmadena Marina is actually Spain’s first ice bar and an extremely popular destination for tourists and locals looking for a fun and unique experience.
Everything in the bar is made of ice: The walls, the bar, the seats, the sculptures and even some of the glasses (the ones used for shots) are made of ice! And don’t worry of you haven’t packed your fleece… as part of the entrance fee, you are provided with a thermal cape, gloves and socks to keep you warm! (more…)

The warm summer evenings on the Costa del Sol become a little more bearable with the fantastic evening exhibition which our friends at Selwo Marina have prepared for this summer.
As from last Saturday 16th July – and until the 31st August – visitors to this magical park will be able to enjoy a spectacular dolphin exhibition accompanied by a selection of classic and contemporary melodies. A violin and saxophone duet will play tunes that’ll have the spectators and the stars of the show – Zeus, Tonet, Rumbo, Astro, Romeo and Bravo (Selwo’s dolphin family) dancing under the stars!
The music and dolphin acrobatics will be accompanied by a specially designed show of light and colour which will fill the night sky.
The show starts at 10:30pm every evening and is priced at €20 per adult and €15 per child (aged 3 to 9 years); however, we recommend you take advantage of the great special offer available which allows you to enjoy access to the dolphin show and a meal at one of the parks fast food outlets for just €2 more per person; that’s a total of €22 for adults and €17 for children. 🙂
If you’d like more information, please ask at the Sunset Beach Club leisure desk located on the 6th floor of the hotel.
