Luna Beach Club Staff Rescue a Baby Dolphin Which Crashed into the Rocks Last Saturday

Baby Dolphin at Luna Beach ClubLast weekend’s strong easterly winds and gigantic waves brought an unexpected visitor to the shores of Luna Beach Club: A baby dolphin. 

Disoriented by the rough seas the tiny creature could not fight the heavy seas and smashed against the rocks of the peer located just in front of Luna Beach. Realising that the dolphin was in trouble, the Luna staff quickly ran to its rescue and carried it to the ‘relative’ safety of the beach as it was clear that it could not fend for itself. (more…)

Sunset Breaks: Creating Special Memories for Children Battling Serious Illness

sunset breaks charity programmeEvery year, Sunset Beach Club contributes to various charities as part of our ongoing corporate responsibility programme. This year our General Manager, Mark Wardell, wanted to do something different, concentrating our fund raising efforts on a very specific cause… that’s when we came up with the idea for ‘Sunset Breaks’. 

It’s our job to provide an enjoyable experience in a fun and safe environment. One could say we are in the ‘dream business’; the business of creating special memories.

Most of us are fortunate enough to be able to travel to foreign countries and enjoy family holidays; however, there are many who aren’t so lucky… So this year, we’ll focus our efforts on creating special memories for those less fortunate, more specifically, for children who are battling serious illness. This colourful celebration has become one of the city’s main tourist attractions – and one of the most popular – with a million yearly visitors. A visit to the Honey Museum in Colmenar

Honey Museum in Colmenar, MalagaAccording to Einstein, “If a bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four more years of live left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” 

Whilst this statement may not be entirely true, studies show that millions of human beings would not survive and thousands of plant species would die out without them; there is no doubt that these fascinating creatures play a vital role in nature.

Benalmádema Hosts 1st Costa del Sol Olive Oil Fair

This is the first time the event is held in the Malaga province and has the objective of highlighting the latest tendencies, technological innovations, processes, as well as elaboration and extraction of one of Andalucia’s most treasured natural resources: Olive oil.  (more…)

Cacti Fair in Paloma ParkHere in Benalmadena, we are fortunate to enjoy one of the most spectacular public parks in Andalucia: Paloma Park. Its’ total surface area of 100.000 square metres makes it the ideal spot to enjoy many outdoor activities and observe the diverse wildlife and flora.

Fuengirola’s Bioparc Zoo Opens New Exhibit, Home to World’s Biggest Dragon

New Indo-Pacific Exhibit at Bioparc FuengirolaBioparc Zoo in Fuengirola is one of our favourite family attractions on the Costa del Sol and, as of last Friday, it’s going to be even better! Why? Because they have opened the spectacular new habitat designed to emulate the Indo-Pacific region. 

This new exhibit will take visitors on a voyage from Asia to the Americas via the islands of the South Pacific. Featuring species from Java, Borneo, Bali, the Philippines, New Guinea and the Galapagos Islands, perhaps the most impressive new inhabitant of the Park is the Komodo Dragon – the largest one in the world!  (more…)
