Carnival Season is well underway and most towns and cities on the Costa del Sol (Including Benalmadena) are submersed in fun programs to celebrate this colourful festivity.

Although the Carnival is celebrated all over Andalucia—the Cadiz Carnival is probably the most famous—for this article, we’ll focus on the Málaga Carnival. Only 25 minutes from our hotel and easily accessible, it’s a ‘must visit’ if you’re planning a trip to the Costa del Sol in February.
We’re lucky enough to enjoy mild winters. This luxury allows the city of Málaga to live one of its most colourful, multicultural and spontaneous festivities of the year: The Carnival.
Ricky Lavazza, one of Sunset Beach Club’s most popular entertainers, is putting on another edition of his special and fun-packed weekend of Rock ‘n roll and music from the 50’s & 60’s. From Friday 24th January to Monday 27th January (2025) you’ll be able to enjoy great music and activities throughout the weekend.
After another successful event last year, this year will also feature 4 days of music and fun with all the greatest hits from the 50’s and 60’s.
Guests purchasing tickets for the whole event (including accommodation) are in for 4 days of fun with a packed activities program. It all kicks off on Friday 24th January with a welcome drink followed by Professional dance Sessions in the Sala Ronda. At 9:00pm you can enjoy the first of 4 amazing shows in the Moonlight Bar. ‘Revival live band’ will be Ricky’s guests for the Rock n’ Roll Rewind Show playing songs from stars like Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Elvis, Eddie Cochran and lots more!
On Saturday 25th January, you’ll be able to enjoy dance lessons at 11.00am in Sala Ronda followed by Twisting by the pool at the Paella Party with live music at 2:00pm. (more…)
Cirque du Soleil, the largest theatrical producer in the world arrives in Málaga next week with their show ‘Alegría’. From the 31st May to the 30th June locals and visitors to the Costa del Sol can enjoy this fun and colourful show in the ‘Grand Chapiteau’ which will be located in the Recinto Ferial Cortijo de Torres (Main Fair Ground) in Málaga.
Alegría premiered in 1994 and has become one of the most beloved Cirque du Soleil shows. It has been touring the world delighting more than 14 million spectators in 255 cities and over 40 countries!
On the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th November 2022, the Moonlight Bar at Sunset Beach Club will once again host Blues at Moonlight, an international music festival for fans of Rockabilly and music with true American roots.
Now in its 14th year, the event promises a fantastic line-up of international (and national) artists and groups. Having established itself as one of the most important festivals in this musical genre, Blues at Moonlight is definitely one to add to your calendar!
The daytime/afternoon activities (DJ’s and live music) will take place in our Oasis Restaurant.
This summer Benalmádena will host a festival which is unique to all of Spain, the Benalmádena Theatre and Music Festival. There is no other like it in all of Spain and during the months of July and August we will be able to enjoy the best productions that Madrid’s ‘Gran Vía’ (Equivalent of London’s West End) has hosted.
The fun starts on the 6th July and goes on until 29th August. Every day (with the exception of Monday) you´ll be able to enjoy one of the 13 shows included in the Festival’s programme.
Faulty Towers, The Original Dining Experience is coming back to Sunset Beach Club on Saturday 16th November 2019!
Officially the world’s longest-running dining experience, this one-of-a-kind original has been selling out at venues around the world for nearly 22 years – including Sydney Opera House and London’s West End. Critically acclaimed as an ‘outrageously funny’ night out (Broadway Baby, Edinburgh Fringe), this all-in-one experience returns to Spain and Gibraltar for a short tour in November 2019 and will be held in Sunset Beach Club’s Sala Málaga Banquet Hall on Saturday 16th November.
