We’re not surprised at the fact that beer is one of the most popular and consumed drinks in the world, but the following figures did amaze us… Apparently 177 billion litres of beer are consumed every year and more than 5.600 litres every second! That’s a lot of beer 🙂

Next weekend (5th, 6th, 7th & 8th February) Torremolinos will host the 21st edition of it’s famous Rockin’ Race Jamboree Festival, four crazy days where the culture and music of the 50’s are the stars of the show.
After twenty successful years, the festival returns next week with an impressive line-up of high level artists who are being flown in from all over the world to perform exclusively at this event. If you want to see any of these bands play live, the Rockin’ Race Jamboree is the only place you’ll be able to do so! (more…)

From the 24th February to 1st March 2014, Torremolinos will host the 25th edition of the European Dance Championships, an event that each year attracts around 1000 participants from all over Europe.
The extensive programme of events will have almost a dozen competitions, all taking place in one location: The ‘Palacio San Miguel’. This year spectators will be able to enjoy the following competitions: The European Combined (Waltz, tango, pasodoble); the Spanish Combined; the European Tango, Waltz, Pasodoble, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Rock and Artistic Dance Championships.
To complete the vast programme, there will also be two group competitions: The Spanish Dance Championship and the European Dance Groups Championship. (more…)

Are you ready to enjoy 4 days of music, dancing, delicious food and lots of great ‘vino’? This Thursday sees the start of the Feria de San Miguel in Torremolinos; from the 26th to the 29th September our neighbouring town will be in full festive mode to celebrate the most important date on their calendar.

There’s a fun new exhibition in Torremolinos and it’s got some pretty massive inhabitants… Dinosaurs!
During July, August and September, the Dinosaurios Park exhibition will be located in the main car park of the Torremolinos Exhibition Centre and will provide both entertainment and education for children and parents alike.
An enormous 12 metre tall brachiosaurus will welcome you upon arrival at the exhibition and once inside, you’ll be taken on a fascinating trip into the world of the dinosaurs. There are more than 50 replicas of dinosaurs, many of which are life size!
Here’s a quick summary of what you’ll find at the Dinosaurios Park:
- Life size Dinosaur fossils
- Mechanical dinosaurs which come to life with their unique movements and sounds.
- Realistic scenes that take you back to the dinosaur age.
- Replicas of dinosaurs that reach 12m in height!
- The chance to become a palaeontologist for a day by looking for fossils.

As from next Monday the 27th February 2012 – and until the 3rd March – Torremolinos will be hosting a new edition (the 23rd) of the European Dance Championship.
This important event will attract more than 3000 participants from all overEuropeand will receive wide television and written press coverage.
Those of you who enjoy dancing will be able to visit the Palacio de San Miguel in Torremolinos and watch the great show up close: Tango, Waltz, Pasodoble, Salsa, Rock, Chachachá, Sevillanas, Artistic Dance, and Spanish Dance are just some of the amazing styles and disciplines gracing the dance floors of the Palacio.
The “show” starts on Monday morning (27th February) with the official parade. All the participants will walk the streets of Torremolinos showing off their beautiful dance attire, accompanied by two well known Spanish models – Fran Ramírez and Elisa Guahnich – who will be leading the parade. (more…)
